For the lazy, the skinny is that 2005 will see these releases, all with Xbox Live capabilities, with the fighters seeing national tournament and head to head matchup capabilities:
THE KING OF FIGHTERS NEOWAVE, SAMURAI SHODOWN V, THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’94 RE-BOUT, KOF: MAXIMUM IMPACT – MANIAX, METAL SLUG 4/5, and THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002/2003
Mmmm, tasty!

I'll definitely grab KOF Neowave, 2002/2003, and SSV. Maniax is a maybe if SNK added some new content.

None of those games are nearly as good as SF3, but SS5 should be fun (It should be SS5 Special) and I'll get KoF02/03 for a change of pace, and Neowave since I've never played it.
Hopefully they fix the lag issues that plagued SvC.

Kinda surprised they're getting those many games together for live. It would be fun to play ms4 & 5. I've enjoyed the single player immensly. The others don't interest me too much. I guess with my discount it may be worth it for metal slug.

Sam Sho V Special isn't coming out on any other platform aside from the Neo Geo. Assumedly because SNK has no fucking business sense.
That said, I'm looking forward to a lot of these, notably SSV, KOF 2k2/2k3, and Slug.

I don't really get it. You get to play this game (a fighter game) on XBox Live on the internet right? But that type of game is about split-second timing and decision making. Both players need to have almost perfect internect connections without any lag at all to make this work. Most games are pretty forgiving when it comes to 50ms lag or something but with fighters timing is everything. So how did they solve this problem? Anyone have any thoughts on this???
Cheers,

Street Fighter Anniversary had excellent netcode, and for the most part, you couldn't even notice the lag after a few games(assuming you didn't hit a bad connection). It's entirely possible to pull it off effectively, just hard, apparently.
