I had a problem with an ebay purchase and was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions as to what to do or what recourse I might have. I described the problem in the Sonic LE thread, but it got a bit buried in there, so I'll repost it here.

Six days ago, I contacted a seller of Sonic LE (the one that just ended at *71*, bejeezus) and asked if he would end the auction early and sell because I'm going to college on the 11th and wanted to get the game before then. He emailed back and said 30 + shipping (4), and he'd end the auction and sell to me. This seller had 100 feedback, almost all positive. I told him, Great, and Paypal'd the money over. 34.00, I have the reciept for it. I haven't heard anything from him since, despite sending 2 more emails. Also, of course, the auction was never ended.

I've found another seller on Sonic LE that I'm buying from, so I'm not worried about getting the game. However, I do want to get back the 34 bucks I was stiffed out of. What would you recommend?

If you used a credit card you are protected. Just call your credit card company and they will handle it. You will probably have to fill otu a form or two. I wouldn't sweat it.

Yeah, I paid on my Visa. I'll have to go look up the policy for that.

Do you know if I report it thru PayPal or through the CC directly?

Report it through your credit card, If that doesn't work, then report it to paypal.

Yeah...try your credit card company first...paypal is notoriously hard to deal with when it comes to getting money back. They'll tell you that if you didn't get your "paypal insurance" that they now sell, you're SOL. Credit card company can just revoke the payment.

PayPal only gives you 15 days now i thinkto file a complaint, so don't wait too long.

NEXT TIME: Let the auction end normally, and then ship the game to your college address.

Also, it's possible the game is already in the mail.
