Hi all, I recently purchased a Netgear WGR614 802.11G 54Mbps Wireless G Router V5. My intention here is to play xbox live and Final Fantasy XI in my room upstairs. Keep in mind my roomates PC is downstairs and the ps2 is upstairs. So if you walk up the stairs to my room it is roughly 30-40 feet. However, my room is directly above his. So if you go through the ceiling we're talking 12 feet maybe. I don't really know if walls make a big deal in this all.
I have a cable internet connection.
Basically i know nothing about all this stuff. So what I need to know is what I need to buy. Here are some links of stuff I think I may need. Please send me links to things I actually need, and let me know if I don't need any of this crap i pasted links for.
Router I bought..

If you want to go wireless, you'll need the wireless router and a wireless bridge for the console(s) you want to connect.
The "plug-in" style bridge you have linked would work through the current electrical wiring you have--you'd need at least two of them, and a router or hub to plug it into. Its not wireless, it just uses pre-existing wires in your house. I've never used one, so I can't say if they're better or worse than wireless.
Unless you have security concerns, I say forget the plug-in bridge, and just go wireless. Its more flexible, and should be just as easy to set up.
I'm also assuming you have a cable modem? If not, you need one of them too. ;)
Also, I'd keep the brand (whatever you go with) "in the family." I've found setup to be a lot easier this way. Its not necessary, but fewer problems pop up.

Even though it's expensive, this should do the trick also. I just bought a wireless router and I'm thinking about getting one too:

So are you saying I need a bridge for every system and my pc? I figured 1 bridge would send the signal to everything.
Also, do you think the bridge I have linked here is a good one for the router I bought?
Another thing also, Is there anything I need to buy for my systems (besides a network adaptor for the ps2) for them to recieve the signal? Or do I simply input the correct numbers in the setup dashboard?

That's the bridge I use. Setup was real easy, but its kinda low on options. Still, it works very well.
As far as needing one for each system, it depends. The plug-in style, you WILL need at least two, because you have to have the signal transmitted through the house's electrical system, and the only way to do that is have one in the console's outlet and one by the router's outlet.
The wireless bridge only needs one unit to work. Think of it like a wireless card for a laptop. You have your network, and the bridge allows you to connect to the network.
If you setup the bridge first, you should only have to DHCP your console--it'll get the IP info straight from the bridge.
I really don't know anything about Netgear. I've always used Linksys, just because their products haven't let me down yet. Stay FAR far away from Belkin. Their products are crap.
