Hmm

Mine would be zelda 3 fron 1994 snes or a Phantasy Star 1 save from sometime the same year.

My original Phantasy star 1 save got wiped while in a master gear converter and going through an xray at the airport.

I do have some game saves from atari 8bit disks from 20 years ago that are preserved in ATR files. Do they count?

I know I still have my unfinished save from Warsong. I got stuck on chapter 11 and was never able to get any further, even now. I must have fucked up royally.

Anyway I think the save dates back to oh... 94.

My first save has to be one from the Super Mario World game for the Super-Nes. I got the game together with the console, i guess it must be from around 1989, can't really remember when I got the S-Nes. Around the launch I think. I don't have any saves on NES games, only on games I got much later used.

The SNES was released in 1991 I think ;)

The oldest savegame I still have should be one of Monkey Island (good old data disks) from 1994 or 1995.

I don't have any that are really old, mainly because my mom gave our NES away when we got a SNES. :( I had a game saved on my copy of Secret of Mana. That must have been from around 1995 or so.

Battery based:

A perfect game of Super Mario World from when it first came out, (91) and a circa '94 slot of Super Metroid; the first time I beat Mother Brain. Sometimes I've plugged in the carts and fiddled with them just to keep the saves alive.

Disk based:
Found some rare surviving C64 disks from my original collection that have Bard's Tale 1 saves on them. My broher Rob (There! I mentioned you now Rob, happy?!:P) would play the game for days at a time. I've also got a Mail Order Monsters save disk from the day. MOM: around '86. BT: '86 or '87.

Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (SNES)-this one goes back to 1998. I have Level 41 with all items and spells at the end of the game.

Chrono Trigger (PS-One)-this one's a few years old, I think somewhere around mid-2002. In this save, I've gone through the game three times and my characters are around Level 78.

Final Fantasy IV (PS-One)-this one goes back to late 2001. I have it saved at the end of the game with all characters at Level 99 with near best equipment.

I have a very old PS1 memory card, from at least 1997. I haven't used it in quite a while, but it has very old saves, some even from '97 or '98.

Had a Crazy Taxi save since March 2000 when I racked up about 74 grand on the arcade city... picked it up two years to the day later and racked up a 72.5. :D

Nowt older than that, though, that game pretty much started my collection, lol.

I used to have two really old save files that I would check on every couple of years to see if they were still alive. One was my first ever SNES zelda file, but I traded that to Bratwurst a long time ago so it's probably long gone. My other file is my 1988 save file in slot 3 of the Legend of Zelda. It was still alive when I checked it last Christmas. Considering how prone the NES was to erasing save files, I think that my '88 file is quite the little trooper.

Here are my oldest that I still have (In order of age):

Mario Kart 64 (1997)
Donkey Kong 64 (2001)
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2002)
Kirby 64 (2002)
Super Smash Bros. (2002)
Banjo-Kazooie (2003)
Final Fantasy 7 (2004)
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (2004)
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (2004)
Paper Mario (2004)
Super Mario 64 (2004)
Mega Man Legends (2004)
The Misadventures of Tron Bonne (2004)
Mega Man Legends 2 (2004)

I did have a save for "Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster and the Beanstock" from 1996, but that was lost when I replaced the hard disk in my PC.

I also had a save for "Zelda: Link's Awakening" from 2000, but that was lost when I foolishly deleated it. Every area of the map was explored, every heart peice, Level 2 sword, and I had beat it allready with Link dieing a grand total of 259 times! @_@ Holy Cow, Batman!

Shining Force 1, when I played it again in 1998-2000. Still amazed that the save was there. I was kinda disappointed to find out that Shining Force 2's save was gone :/ But I finished the game once more this year :D

Found an old memory card for my PS2, it has saved games from Madden 2001 on it. Thats the most obvious example I could come across, but I also know that I have some old battery back up NES SNES carts with save games on them, just not sure which ones

I still have some saved Empire games that go back to 1994.

If the floppy disk is still workable (I haven't checked it in a while) then the oldest saved games would be the games I saved just before I completed Zorks I,II and III. I played those games on my Atari 400 back in 1985.

I went from the Atari 7800 to the Super NES so I missed all those NES days. I bought one after the fact but gave my NES to a friend about a year or so ago. Thus, the SNES would remain the system I have my oldest save on. I'm not sure what that would be...my first game for this system was The Simpsons: Bart's Nightmare but I don't think you saved on that...you just played until you lost. Could you save on Batman Returns? That was my second game. Thus, I imagine my oldest save would likely be Super Mario World...

My oldest saves were Smackdowns 1 & 2 from 2000, State of Emergency from 3 years ago (PS2), Strider from 1990 when I had the NES at the time & Final Fantasy 2 for the 16-bit Super NES in 1992.
