It's really small and light. And the screen sounds wonderful. But can it really be comfortable to play for extended amounts of time?

Pic stolen from Nintendojo:

It does not play MP3's. Its just a super small GBA (2 inch screen). Look at it like the GBpocket...which just happens to be my favorite GB evar.

I'm assuming Nintendo is releasing yet ANOTHER game boy variation?

This is why I don't collect Game Boy. :(

That's what I was afraid of... :/

So that means the DS is pretty much like everyone said then? Just a filler until the next GameBoy can be released.

Can someone (like maybe the OP) post a link or something then? I am confused as well.

Micro? As in microscopic? They really don't need to be that much smaller...

Yes, I'm clueless as well.

Yahoo article (http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/050517/latu048.html)

If I'm seeing that right, the screen is SMALLER THAN THE FREAKING CARTRIDGE. O_O

According to the IGN summary of the press conference, it's about the same size as an iPod. Not sure which market they're trying to go after with the Micro...

And it's a variant on the GBA. But it plays MP3! :hmm:

It's supposedly two-thirds the size of an I-Pod. Looks about as big as a pack of cigarettes... very dinky.

It looks to me like their going for the "sleek is cool" and "mp3 players are cool" crowd, which is pretty much everyone in the 13-30 age range.

You gotta admit, it's not that "cool" to whip out a big purple Game Boy, this never affected me, but it does a good majority of people.

Of course, considering that I own a GBA SP (a Japanese pink one, no less), a DS and an iPod 20GB, I'm definitely not the person targeted for the Micro...

The only thing that will likely sell me on this is the screen quality mixed with the button layout. I hate using the SP now after playing GBA games on my DS. But I also dislike the button layout on the DS - it doesn't work very with GBA games. I'll use it, simply because the screen is that much better than the SP - but if I had both a good button layout and a good screen, then I'd be really happy. Plus, it would fit in my pocket, unlike the DS or the SP.

And it really depends on the price too. If it's $50 or less, then I'm much more likely to give it a shot.

Wait, that screen looks much smaller than the GBA/GBA SP's. How can they do that? I'm a real technology dumbass so if someone can explain this to me it would be much appreciated. Right now I cant figure out how they can cut back pixels and still get the correct screen image.
