Your Pre-DP CGEs

I was just going through the CGE 2K1 pictures here on DP, and I found one with me and my sister shopping in my only pre-DP CGE. And it got me wondering who here might have gone to a CGE before they found DP, and what brought you there?

I actually found out about CGE in the first new layout of Game Informer. It was their first new retro section, and they had a picture of not only Ralph Baer, but the first model of the 2600, the rainbow-trippy designed model (I finally got a pic of that thing last year! :D ). I got to go with my sister, her first and only CGE, and it was so incredible that I found DP and, as the saying goes, the rest is history.

I went to WOA in 1998. I don't remember how I learned about WOA. Probably the result of a web search. I mentioned my trip to Pantechnicon and he was green with envy. He wanted to go to the next one but we weren't even sure there would be a next one. Luckily we discovered that there would be another one but the name was changed to CGE (I think we learned of CGE by going to the old WOA site).

I've been to every CGE since then. :)

My first 2 CGE's I was strictly AtariAge. That's what brought me to CGE, reading about it on there forums I think. I knew of DP after my first CGE though, and was checking just not signed up. I don't know what took me so long to sign up here.

My first CGE I was really unknowledgable. I considered Chase The Chuckwagon the holy grail I needed. (still dont have it but thats a diff. story).
