I think my favorite is Top Skater from Sega in the arcade, sadly I don't know anyplace which still has one. It was really great gameplay and it was one of the reason for me to go to the arcade. Sadly the arcade no longer has videogames or pinball-table, now they only have stupid gamble-games.

I also liked Trasher as it's a more serious game. Tony Hawk can be fun as well.

The THPS games are awesome. I haven't been able to get 720, but I'm not quite about to call it unplayable :)

Never tried Top Skater, that's something I'll have to look out for.

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3. I don't really like all the stuff they added from part 4 on (though I did like 4 and THUG1 -- I haven't tried THUG2 yet).

I picked up Pro Skater 2 for PS for $1.50 from EB Games and that's still a pretty fun game.

I bought every THPS game (except THUG 2) for the $50 new price. And I can say that the one that held up the best is THPS 2.

Also like Thrasher, and Skate or Die.

The first THPS really busted the genre wide open. I love the music from that game too. Having said that, I think I enjoyed the second game a little more, or at least for a longer period of time.

The 3rd game was OK, it was pretty much more of the same.

The 4th game had that whole "skate up to this guy and get your objective" thing going. I didn't like it in Dave Mirra 2 and I didn't like it in THPS 4 either. It just feels too restrictive, and it's a waste of time.

I don't get the underground games at all. I played the first one and was totally baffled. Why would you want to waste time climbing up on a roof and jumping around in a Tony Hawk game? Why would you want to get off your skateboard at all? Dumb. From what I understand the second underground has a classic mode that plays like 1-3, will definitely have to check it out.

I thought Street Sk8er and Street Sk8er 2 were decent. One of them (forget which) has this song called "I'm in Love With Liz Phair" that is still stuck in my head...and I only heard it once!

Never got into 720. Skate or Die for the C64 was my favorite skateboarding game until THPS. The halfpipe level of California Games was pretty cool too.

I liked the get-off-your-board element, made it a HELL of a lot easier to go back up stairs, gave you even more insane ways to string combos together, and you could Caveman! Whee!

720 is pretty much unplayable unless you're on the arcade itself. The circular joystick is pretty much required for any sort of control.

Top Skater was in every mall arcade that existed between 1997 and.. heck, now. Probably one of the most popularly sold games in the last 10 years. Lots of fun to play. Air Trix, its sequel, wasn't nearly as fun in my opinion.

Best skateboarding game? Tony Hawk 2 is pretty much the no-brainer answer. While all opinions are obviously personal; the vast majority of the public and the press will say TH2 is the de facto skateboarding experience. I have to agree.

Control, presentation, faux-realism, inspired music licensing, and all around fun factor had everyone gripped in Hawk fever.

That said, Skate or Die will always hold a special place in my heart. And, for some crazy reason, the skateboarding levels in T&C Surf Designs on the NES were addictive to me.

Tiki Man for teh win.

Love THPS 2- but ONLY on Dreamcast. By far the best of the series, and the DC is the system of choice for this game. Way better than the PSX or N64 versions. THPS 1 is also way up there.

I think it's a tie between THPS 1/2. I've been really addicted to THPS1 on the N64 lately. If the original had the manual, then I'd like it more, but THPS2 is just a bit better. :)

Any and all things Tony...:D

I have cleared every objective, every difficulty level, and every gap in each of them. But as for my favorite, the whole "collect tapes and letters" stuff got old after a while so it would definately be post-THPS3.

So i think i'd go with THUG-1 because i think THUG2 tried a bit too hard and turned a little corney.....

THPS 3 by a mile. I don't know how anyone could possibly like THPS 2 more than 3. THPS 2 is very slow, and doesn't have a revert. I haven't really gotten into any of the THPS games since the third one, but 3 is definatley my favorite!

Die.

All I gotta say is that
"White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash. 8-)

My favorite by far is THPS2 for the DC, I played the 3rd one, but it was a little too overwhelming (dont ask why). I just got a PSP so I might pick up that one.

I'm glad that there's a Tony Hawk game announced for the DS. Regardless of which game it is (it could be a "best of" of the 4 THPS games...), just the fact of playing THPS on the go, in 3D is good for me. It doesn't matter if, visually, it's of the N64 level (or slightly better), it's fine with me, especially since I never liked the GBC/GBA THPS games...

One may say, why not just get it for the PSP? Well, I don't have a PSP, but I do have a DS. It's as simple as that.

Easily Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2. I spent so much time with that game...and hey, my play even earned me $50 at a college competition 8-)

Skate or Die is probably my favorite. I love the music and the varitey of the events (except for the high jump).

I play the skateboarding part of T&C Surf designs all the time, and I have no idea why.

I played the heck out of THPS3 and loved it, but THUG2 for the PSP really didn't do it for me because 1) the D-pad is spaced too far apart and 2) I don't like the new way of doing missions. Classic mode is great though if I could actually pull off any decent combos with that damn d pad.

I've played a lot of skateboaring games in my days, and while there were several I enjoyed, the one I had the most fun with was Street Sk8er. So simple, so arcadey, so fun!

I really enjoyed the first Tony Hawk on the PlayStation. Got through it and unlocked everything in it as well. But for some reason or another, I haven't been able to get into any other skateboarding game.

Skate or Die, hands down. The game play was great & the background music was awesome, because I have recorded the game's background music to a cassette tape.

Tony Hawk 3

Skate or Die 2 (Half-pipe level)
The halfpipe was one of the greatest NES skateboarding achievements, and is still an absolute blast to play.
