Hey Joe or anyone else who cares.

I recently got a Dragon 32 console from Ebay. I was wondering if anyone has any info on it or if it was considered for the guide. I have a unit and a power supply and two games. and a box of trs games and controllers I don't know how compatible the diffrent stuff is but I am going to try soon. Do you need any info on this because I could try some on compatibility?

Also
Russ, I know you said you have game lists for the Dragon we should email eachother and talk about a list for the archive. Whadaya say.

Also Joe, I know I have on the board intermittantly, but if you need my help I'am trying to post on a regular basis. If you need my help let me know. The Dragon 32 would be a cool installment to the archive.

You're the first person to volunteer, that makes you the "section editor" if you'd like. I do not know if this section would be in the book but it should certainly be included in the database and on the online listings.

Please email me and we can talk details!

Thanks.

Thanks Joe

I am going to really give this some thought, and I will email you. And by the way, what I ment by compatibility, I was talking about the TRS 80.

Thanks

PS: Russ if I become the section editor would you help me?

Now Joe, if it wasn't for having to do the section intros, I'd have volunteered for a ton of systems! Remember how many times I've asked about doing an appendix volume of stuff not covered by the DPCG? :-)

@vintagegamecrazy: sure thing; email me at slapdash@enteract.com and I can try to pull out the Dragon info I have. There's not a lot, sadly, but maybe I've got something listed that you don't have listed.

Well... that was THEN, this is NOW! Once we decided to plunge into all systems all bets are off on what we "won't do". Everything is fair game. And check it out Russ, who would have thought that your name would appear as a contributor to the Dreamcast section, of all things!

I've just added a comment to all of the system headers (that bit about who's maintaning the sections at the beginning of every system on our lists page) so that past contributors are given due credit. This appears in the book and the only way I'll be able to keep 'em in order now is to include them on the database. So look for more "Russ Perry Jr." sightings (and citings) on those lists in the very near future!

My, that sounds like a challenge... Of course, Sylvain might beat me to the punch on many systems... Are just lists okay to start? I don't have intros, rarities, prices... for most/all of my lists.

I'm still not sure why I got so into collecting for it -- probably just the low price but reasonable availability mixture.

@Slapdash: we can start with lists. Actually they've all started that way, we flesh 'em out over time. I can ALWAYS use your help!

Hay Joe, I saw my name on the SG 1000 section and was thought it was cool to have my name on the list. I can try to help with that section as I find info. Rarity is a little out there for me right now. I am working on my Dragon 32 list and before I release it I want to find an emulator and be able to provide some gameplay info for the list as well and give brief descriptions for each listing. I wanna get it done soon or I will take forever. When it comes to rarity I will need help from everyone since theres no way to do it on my own. Email me the template when you can and I can get started.

I think MESS emulates the Dragon 32, if you haven't found that out yet.

You can check out more information on The Dragon and it's American counterpart the Color Computer here:

And here are some Dragon specific sites:

A decent emulator site

Getting OS-9 (Microware, not Apple) to run on a Dragon:
http://www.onastick.clara.net/os9.htm

More Dragon info:

As far as compatibility: While the Dragon and CoCo have practically the same BASIC interpreters and the same hardware, you can't just play a CoCo game on a Dragon and vice versa. For 100% BASIC programs (no machine language) just save the program in ASCII and it should work. However, any machine language will not run as the ROM calls are different. You'd have to patch the calls. I'm not sure about carts, however. When I get a chance I'll dig through my Rainbow magazines to see if there is any mention.

Hope this helps!

It's all good. I really appreciate the work you've already done!
