I think Aphex Twin 12"s would sell for and be more sought after than that.

That certainly wasn't his first single, though it may have been the first on CD.
Some of his 12"s will be worth far more than that - there's probably no-one from the last 20 years or so with a more complex discography than ol' RDJ, and it's littered with mythical pressings and shady releases under a frankly bewildering number of pseudonyms.
