Ninjas were the hot thing in the 80s and this is reflected in the fact that a lot of games for the NES featured Ninjas (I'm guessing it might be as high as 5%). I like to have subcollections of games and so I want to collect all NES games with ninjas in them. But... I need some help putting a list together. So, can the folks at DP help me compile a list of every NES game with a ninja in it?

Here's what I have so far:

Games with ninjas in them:
Action 52
Arkista's Ring
Bad Dudes
Baseball Simulator 1.000
Baseball Stars
Batman
Demon Sword
Double Dragon III
Final Fantasy
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
G.I. Joe: The Atlantis Factor
Gun.Smoke
Kid Niki
Last Ninja, The
Legend of Kage
Little Ninja Brothers
Nightmare on Elm Street, A
Ninja Crusaders
Ninja Gaiden
Ninja Gaiden II
Ninja Gadien III
Ninja Kid
Shadow of the Ninja
Shinobi
Strider
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters
Wrath of the Black Manta
Zen: Intergalactic Ninja

And I'm sure that there are others, but these are all I came up with off the top of my head. Thanks for any help!

EDIT: Combined the lists into one master list of ninja games.

Final Fantasy has the Ninja character class.

And, if you are a G.I. Joe comic fan, both of those games have ninjas (i.e., Snake Eyes). I call those people insane myself.

There's a ninja pitch of some sort in Baseball Simulator 1.000, if I'm not mistaken.

I can't believe I missed Kid Niki. And Baseball Simulator 1.000 does indeed have a Ninja Ball.

Keep 'em coming. And does anyone remember whether Strider, Golgo 13, or The Mafat COnspiracy had ninjas? I've played them, but not for a long time.

Hiryu is kind of like a ninja. Golgo 13 has a Karate woman, but no full on ninja (the sequel doesn't even have that much).

Isn't there a ninja-like enemy in Nightmare in Dreamland? Or am I simply insane?

Oh, and Bad Dudes, of course!

Is the full name of the home version of Bad Dudes:

Bad Dudes Versus Dragon Ninja

The arcade game is, and I know it is a port...

The home version of the NTSC port of the game is simply Bad Dudes. The home version of the PAL port of the game is Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja.

Not completely sure on this one, but I thought you could turn into a Ninja (along with other things) in Nightmare on Elm Street.

Just checked the manual for Nightmare on ELm Street and you are, indeed, correct.

Demon Sword was crawling with Ninjas

Of course.

It's actually the sequel to "Legend of Kage".

Just the people at Taito USA didn't want you to know that fact by changing the box art to something that has nothing to do with feudal japan.

I think I'll stick to US releases, but thanks for the suggestions.

Ninja Gaiden, the 2004 version for the PS2 is one of them.

Shadow of the Ninja is especially interesting to me in that it apparently kicked off a relationship between Natsume and Taito - after all, Natsume programmed The Ninja Warriors Again (that's the Super Famicom version of the SNES title). Taito released Shadow of the Ninja in Europe as Blue Shadow, and that's a game I *will* be buying when I have the money, just for the cover art. Very well done. In Japan, SotN (hahahaa) is known as Kage, which can be confusing if you're thinking of Kage no Densetsu, i.e. The Legend of Kage.

The Legend of Kage's sequel, of course, is Demon Sword, and while the cover art and hack job belie its origins, anybody playing it will immediately realize what the game's actually about. Great stuff, though people either love or hate Demon Sword. I certainly don't play it often, but enjoy when I do. (oops, Lord C. beat me here, but heh).

Kamen no Ninja: Atakage is an interesting Famicom-only title; I recommend trying out the ROM. The system takes a lot of getting used to (hint: you need to select throwing stars to kill the bird. That damn bird).

Hmm...the original Ninja Kun I tried out a while ago, wasn't very much impressed. It's like Konami's classic arcade game Mr. Goemon, except without the fun :(

Strider indeed does have a ninja. Remember, he's in the Red Dragon? He has two big blades and when you attack him he turns into a tornado.

You mean Strider 2, right? Because I grew up playing Strider on the NES, Genesis & the Playstation and I made it the #1 game from 1990 to 1996.

Double Dragon III: The Sacred Stones also have ninjas in it (Japan level). Maybe in the other DD-games too?

No, Strider on the NES. Maybe he's technically a robot, but he looks like a robot ninja to me. Remember? You have to hold your cipher in the "up" position and jump into him to stab him while he jumps over you. I could be mistaken, but I remember this pretty well.
