What games on the NES have really good intros or cutscenes in general.
I love watching the the little intro scenes that alot of NES games had. They didnt have to have great gaphics, but its nice when they do :-P

Shatterhand has a nice looking intro.Short but cool.

??? :-P

Besides the obvious nod to the Ninja Gaiden games I have to go with the intro to Clash at Demohead. I just liked the old 80's anime art style in that game.

Does the intro to Fester's Quest qualify? That expression on his face always manages to make me laugh. LOL

Ninja Gaiden 2 has the best cutscenes of any NES game IMHO...

Blaster Master has my favourite intro scene: the music is awesome and the story is absolutely retarded. I love it!

The easy answer for best cut scene would be the Ninja Gaiden series (specifically NG 1).

Blades of Steel ;) One of the first in game advertising tricks for other Konami games, a playable boss battle from Gradius, and another nice animation of a miscellanious hockey mascot.

Crystalis
Low G Man (even though the game sucked the intro was cool)
Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!
The Rocketeer

Ninja Gaiden, duh.

Somebody already mentioned the game, but I gotta back it up: Crystalis. That has the best opening of any NES game, IMO. I used to turn it on just to watch the intro.

I always liked Strider's intro, as well. It has great music.

I think that both the intro and ending to Mega Man II have become infamous, as well.

Kickmaster has really good cutscenes.

Sword Master also has pretty decent (but short) intro & cutscenes.

Castlevania III has a decent intro as well. I'm not sure about the first two since I don't have them at hand right now, so can't check.

If you want to see a really boring intro with very dull background music...start up Kabuki Quantum Fighter!

I cant believe nobody has mentioned the half time to Tecmo Bowl yet. That cheerleader that they sometimes show at the end. The one on her knees doing that thing with her hand...........so hot. Come on I know I am not the only one :D

I think the opposite, sucky intro, good game.

Gremlins 2 has good cut scenes. I also like the intro of Mega Man 4 (it looks better than the ending).

Can't remember the opening, but I always liked the comix style scenes between levels in Double Dragon II.

Hell yea those were damn good cut scenes, the intro to Tecmo Super Bowl is amazing. That game still stands as the greatest football game of all time in my opinion.

I just remembered an obscure one. The zapper game Freedom Force (Sunsoft) has an exceptionally cool intro. It's actually really impressive for the NES. It's got a unique art-style, sort of anime-derived, but not entirely. Definitely check that out. Not a bad game itself, either, although pretty much impossible to play in an emulator.

Mu vote goes to Tecmo Super Bowl as well-the band, the parachuter, the babes; what else could you ask for?

If you want to count Famicom games that is. ;)

Legend of the Ghost Lion had a somewhat impressive intro sequence if I remember correctly.

Totally forgot about that one, Freedom Force does have some nice intro cinematics - it also plays decently under NES emulation on the Dreamcast.
