tell me MVS games to buy/MVS help

so i am getting an aes with the phantom converter soon and the only games i have are metal slug 3 and samurai shodown 5.what are the best places to buy games and what games are must owns?

Id say MS2 was WAAAAY better than MSX. Msx didnt feel right and was all fucked up imo

Yes, there 269 us$, but you can play the cheaper mvs-games instead of the expensive home ones which can save you a lot more then the price of Phantom. A AES copy for games like Metal Slug, Big Tournamnt Golf aka Neo Turfmasters, Blazing Star, Pulstar, Kizuna Encounter and some others are that expensive that the price is hunderds of dollars higher on, so you will save that. Also it's great you can play mvs-only games, there not that many great ones but games like Shock Troopers, Bust-A-Move 1 and 2 and some others makes it a good deal for those who prefer a homesystem over a mvs with supergun or cabinet.

Games I recommand are Neo Turf Masters, Nightmare in the Dark and Shock Troopers. These are great games the first one is too expensive on AES, the others are mvs-only. Nightmare in the Dark can be expensive as it didn't sold many copies but it's a fun Bubble Bobble like game. Great fun. Shock Troopers is a really great game in the tradition of Ikari Warriors and I prefer the first part over the second as I prefer the style more and the fact you can switch charcter in the game.

I thought 2-slot was the safest bet, it can be troublesome to get some games to boot with a 6-slot and because of the size of the pcb board it bends down everytime you switch carts.

By the way...I saw a consolized 2 slot (you know what that is, right?) going for $300 shipped and it included a thing or two. Thats a much better deal than buying a Gun for $260+ and an AES. I don't remember if it was here or at Neo-Geo.com but I'd do some Buying & Selling searches for "Consolized" if I were you. 8-)

Remember when buying MVS stuff be careful about counterfeit stuff it's a huge problem these days. If you see a deal (especially on E-Bay) thats too good to be true, well....... you know the rest. :-P

haha well i am glad this thread is helping someone else than just me.and yes i know what a consolized MVS is,and i wanted one of those for the longest time then i saw an AES complete system for $100 and figured what the hell this is ment to be.i really want to have an arcade MVS setup one day,we'll see how that goes.

and some newbie questions...do it save your high scores and such on the cart and playing the game on the AES can i change the settings and all that?i can't wait till this comes...

edit: anyone hear deal with www.arcadeshock.com at all?they don't look too bad.

I got my stuff today (find pix and info in the weekly finds thread) and I can tell you that Shocktroopers 2nd Squad & Samurai Shodown 2 ARE a lot of fun! I highly reccomend both of them!

ok so i got the aes and everything today.plays fine but when i go to get the phantom to play some mvs...the carts don't fit on it.i am a little worried since i tried putting them on so hard i thought they might break.

am i doing something wrong?help!
