I saw ande3502 listed his Drac's Night Out on eBay. But isnt he stupid for putting the word "prototype" in his title and description? I heard eBay will pull off auctions of software prototypes and suspend your account.

Apparantley is was stupid for im to list Drac's night out with "prototype" in the title and description. Looks like ebay removed it because he relisted it.

No the seller ended it himself. I told him to remove the words prototype and unreleased. If eBay ended it, he wouldn't get away with relisting the same item again so quickly.

Its not a one of a kind, I just saw another one of these on ebay a few weeks ago, and someone else had another siting of one on ebay not too long ago, both with the same label.
I think people pay 40-60 for this reproduction.

A) it's probably not a repro, and
B) this is the same cart as the one you saw two weeks ago. (I don't believe in Gargantuan-sized coincidences).

I agree with Dr. Morbis, first of all the one that was on a couple of weeks ago could be the same cart, and this doesnt make it a repro, because we've already discussed that auction. Second you said you saw someone else selling that same cart a while ago, thats b.s., I looked for that game many of times, and if it was on there it would have been discussed somewhere in this forum. And there is a website that searches not only eBay but other online auctions sold in the past few years and I've tried Drac's night out in that search engine and it came up with nothing. Once again we have another person accusing this cart of being a fake and claiming its been elsewhere but offering no proof.

Does the top corner of the circuit board say Nintendo 1997? Wouldn't that be way into the SNES lifespan? Why would Nintendo be putting out boards for the NES at this time? I only ask this as a question, not to prove or disprove the authenticity of the game, which I know nothing about. :D

If all you are interested in is being able to play the game on your NES, then a repo is the best option. There are people on this site that offer tyhis service for around $30-40 range.

For a proto like what's in this auction, it's hard to say what the total will be. I don't know enough about this to tell if it's real or not, but repos/fakes have been around for a long time in the gaming world. You really need to do your homework before you jump out there buying stuff. It is possible it's a fake with a custom label. Or maybe this is the real deal. A one off proto with what looks to be a production label for some sort of review copy is possible. Typically protos don't have finished labels on them though, so it's a rarity in that regard. That label looks very polished. It may be on a cheapie grad of label, which is why the edge wear is noticeable on the end, but it looks like it was completely read to be thrown in a box & sold.

If it's the real deal, it could easily top $100, maybe finish in the $200-300 range. Or more if two or more people really really want it bad enough. But with repos being so easily attainable, the demand goes down somewhat, only those crazy Nes collectors & proto collectors driving up the cost.

Well we did and it looked real to us, and we are both convinced that it is real, mainly because the circumstances under which it was sold. i know that everyone wants to know where it came from, but thats all i know, some guy who didnt know what he was doing sold this to me and my friend, who took a chance and bought it....and it looks real to me. SO for the record, I ande3502 did not play any part, nor do i have knowledge of this cart being reproduced by me or anyone else...i just won it in an auction, opened it up to take pics so everyone could see exactly what i was seeing, tried it out, and put it right back on ebay, only this time, described properly. any questions you can contact me through the auction

THIS IS A NES COLLECTORS FORUM, do you really think (besides a few people on here) that anyone is going to talk you into buying it? Of course they are going to rip him and talk you out of it. Most people regardless what they say are atleast a little bit interested in this cart. How could you not be? There is still a very good chance this cart could be real thus making it worth far more than the $250 you put down. I am going to laugh if someone wins this cart for very cheap and finds a way to prove its real. I don't know much about prototypes, but by doubters basing their thoguhts that this cart is fake on HUGE coincidenses is retarded.

In my closing statement I would like to apologize if i offended anyone, which i certainly didnt try to do. I simply like to argue. I never once challenged whether the expert collectors on here knew what they were talking about. I simply stated that sometimes collectors of nes games or anything for that matter, dont want to admit someone could of possibly found something similar to what they have found because they feel it decreases the value of their find. Which is true among some collectors. I could easily be wrong, but so anyone on this tpoic that came up with a crazy theory like this. Ok now there has been alot of fuzz about this game.I have a question for the owners of the other protos of Dracs Night out.
Could it be that the insides (boards,eprom,sticker,handwriting on eprom) are made by the same person?
Maybe the owners of these can post the pics of their protos insided to compare all three and see if there is a match?
I dunno if this can prove anything but maybe the handwriting on the stickers could tell if it was made by the same person.
