Hi,
I recently powered up my Sega Game Gear, only to find that the screen's colours all turn a funny blue at a perpendicular viewing angle. (I haven't played it in a few years)
The machine is playable and I can see the colours if I view the screen from below (i.e.: by tilting the Game Gear upwards a little).
Is my memory faulty or is this normal?
Thanks,
Fabsy

I'll second that. Its normal for the gamegears to do that. Even the newer ones are kinda flakey like that.

Agreed! If you have gotten used to the newer game systems screens, such as a Gameboy Advance, you can get a flash cart and an emulator to play roms of GameGear games on the newer systems. I myself play my old GameGear units quite a bit and I am used to the screen. I have got AC adaptors, a DC car adaptor, and a battery pack to use to play this handheld system a lot!

8-) thanks for the help then.
SuperShark: What voltage and current rating DC adapter would I need to play my Game Gear?
6 AA batteries are a just a wee bit demanding by today's standards ;)

The GameGear uses the same AC adaptor as a Sega Genesis II or Genesis 3 does, also used with 32Xs by the way. So if you see an AC adaptor for any of those systems or if you have one for any of those systems, pop it into your GameGear and GAME ON!
Now as for the DC car adaptor and the Battery Pack, those may be harder to get a hold of. They do show up sometimes on eBay, but they are not as cheap as a Genny AC adaptor. And also with the GG Battery Packs, the Genny AC adaptors are needed anyway, and I advise you to make sure you are buying a working one before you actually spend your maoney on one!
Hope I helped!

PSone Car kit works well and safely with the Game Gear. Also, the PSOne AC adapter will power a Game Gear, as will a Genesis 2 /32X/CDX AC adapter

Ah Yes. Thank you omnedon, I forgot about the PSuno adaptors. Yes that can be another one to look for Fabsy, but you have a load of choices of items to go looking for to power that battery eating GameGear of yours, so if you go out and look for these, you should be able to find one very easily and quickly!
Gook Luck Fabsy! You shouldn't need it!

Whoops, x_x
a slip of the keyboard there.
I meant an AC adaptor. Thanks a lot everyone! I should have no problem finding a PSone adaptor.
