I'm a big fan of laserdisc and FMV games, and the RDI Halcyon system has always intrigued me. Mainly because it was so obscure and also because it was put out by Rick Dyer, one of the guys responsible for Dragon's Lair. I wanted to own one for the longest time but I can hardly find any info about it online, much less find one that's available for sale. I did see one on Ebay about 5 years ago (sold for $50) but it was just the main laserdisc system and didn't come with the control pad or CPU, so I didn't bid.

Does anyone here own one, or at least seen one in person at a CGE show or something? From the lack of info on the net about this unit, I'm starting to think that the Halcyon has gotta be the rarest gaming console on the planet.

I wonder how many were actually sold, at $2500

I admit I've also been very curious about this system, beyond what is mentioned in Kent's and Herman's books (which is'nt very much) and the sole pic.

Does anyone know how many sold? How long they were available for? What a 'complete' system has? If any demo discs were published? Pics of the two released games?

And does anyone actually HAVE one, to get back to the topic of the thread? LOL
