Will the Revolution co-exist with the Gamecube as Nintendo claims or not? or will it replace GC?

Of course it's a replacement. The GC is dead in North America, and dying in Japan (along with everything else over there, but still).
There's always "co-existence" between consoles during a transition phase: PS1 and PS2, NES and SNES, etc. There's nothing special about the co-existence of the GameCube and Revolution.

I'm assuming that the Revolution will also have memory slots compatible to the GC... but I'm curious to know if a GBASP could be hooked up to it. That would allow the Rev. to play Zelda Four Swords in multiplayer mode.

Does anyone remember from the Nintendo 2004 E3 press conference Nintendo saying something about launching an exciting line of GameCube peripherals at this years E3? If I'm remembering that correctly, they were completely absent.

Well, I do remember them saying they will TRY and continue to make Gamecube games as long as the public still buys them.
Which is obvious already. Did we think there would just be a dead stop on everything GC when the REV. is released? No system transisiton has every done that.

that's just the usual stuff, just like PSOne had new games coming out after the PS2 release, nothing special about it, now way it was meant in the way you are assuming

I didn't choose the third option because Nintendo's just trying to push our buttons. Of course it's a replacement; if Nintendo thought the GC was good enough then there wouldn't be a new console.
