With the rise of the SP GBA in Europe, I've got a question.
Ok, TV consoles are NTSC or PAL. Does this translate to handhelds as well? Like is the screen squished or is there slow down in handhelds if you use games from a different country? If this new system is released in Europe before the US, I might have my BF send me one, but only if there is no slow down in games or squishing.

The answer is no - there is no PAL or NTSC issues with handhelds. I believe they are the only systems that are really universal so if you buy a European advance SP and play a US game on it there will be no difference to playing a US game on a US advance.
No slowdown and no squishing :D

You have to watch out for the language thing. If he sends you a french game, and you want to play 2-player with an English,German,Japanese or whatever game, then you could erase your save file.

Thanks, although, I don't think he'll be sending me games for it. Seeing as how he can't read french nor speak it (and he's there for 6 mo!) nor can I. I just needed the system since it works with the GBA games. Thanks for hte heads up though.

The entire line of Gameboy never had any lockout so games could be inported and played right out of the box. And since the GB uses its own screen there's no NTSC or PAL game. Some games may not work at all in multiplayer link if they all are not from the same country.

france, huh? if he's heading to bretagne (brittany) in the south of france, have him see if dock games in quimper is still open. it's a tiny lil' shop, behind a cathedral, across from a pretty wild and huge outdoor flea market deal. there are a number of shops in paris, but i don't recall any of them (lol)...=^P
