Has anyone played this?
It was published by Toshiba EMI for the Super Famicom in 1993. I've been wanting to get my hands on a copy ever since seeing a small preview of it in an old issue of EGM. Given the track record of BTTF games, I wasn't expecting it to be any good, but considering that it never made it to the U.S., I thought even if the game sucked, it would make a great BTTF collectible.
I did find and download the ROM a few years back, and I was very impressed by it. It's a Sonic-style platformer, complete with all sorts of wacky SD stuff going on (just check out the cops in level one to see what I mean). There's even an intro featuring an SD Marty, Jennifer and Doc (a version of the "I need fuel!" scene from the original and Part II).
I have yet to locate an actual copy of the game - I even had my contact in Japan searching for me for a while with no luck - but I'd still like to get one. If you've played it, either on the SF or in ROM form, what did you think of it?

I'm aware of it and played the ROM once, but I've never seen a copy for sale.
I thought it was alright -- nothing OMG! spectacular, but way better than the other BttF game abominations. I do like seeing the characters done up all chiba SD-style. I get the feeling that it was printed in low numbers (a quirky Japanese-only game based on an American movie that was four yeras old at the time?), but probably wouldn't be too expensive if you could track down a copy.

It's certainly never going to be in my Top 100, but it is better than all the other BTTF titles. I just wish I could find a copy.

I remember it being Sonic-ish and being far better than any other BTTF game ever made. And i too played the ROM of this probably 5 years ago.
I did chuckle at the SD Lorraine McFly-Tannen with the huge breasts. LOL
(I know the implants were in the movie, but anything SD with huge breasts is hilarious.)
I wouldnt mind owning this game either.

I've decided to write up a review of SBTTF2 and post it on the OPCFG. If anyone wants to read it, here's the link: http://www.geocities.com/opcfg2/sbttf2review.html

I bought a Megadrive game from this seller the other day and noticed he has BTTF2 for sale. Not cheap but at least it seems to be in decent condition.

I'd love to grab it, but as of right now it's WAY out of my price range.

Thats a bit more than i'd like to pay to laugh at SD boobies.
The game would be fine at around $20 but $70, thats money better spent elsewhere.
Thats the first time i have ever seen that game for sale.

It's too bad that I didn't know about this earlier. When I was in Japan I found a store that had a bunch of new SFC games at very reasonable prices, and BTTF II was one of them. I didn't pick it up though, unfortunately, becuase I figured it was probably just another poor licensed game.

I just played the rom of this.
I too am wanting a copy now. In fact well over a few years ago I've seen one in the wild on a trip to New York City in Chinatown. It was loose though.
Pretty amusing seeing SD versions of the BTTF2 characters I've been familiar with. So far it's been accurate to the movie.
Stage 1's boss is a giant SD of I forgot what the name of that guy that picked on the future Marty McFly and had a gang on hoverboards.
And I was also impressed with the Super NES rendition of the BTTF overture.

That was Griff Tannen, grandson of Biff Tannen.
