After having this happen to me more than once I learned to save, save, save, and when your finished save. Regardless of the game or system you never know when the power will go out, lock-ups, alien invasion etc. :P

yeesh. you're the 3rd person i know that's happened to recently with that game. i did that myself as well- i think i was about 8 or so hours into the game, and had played about 5 hours since my last save (the game does get pretty addictive after a while, but the amount of battles is a pain).
the last game to lock up on me was ff9- i found a complete one in the trash a few weeks ago (!), and it was complete and in PERFECT shape... except for disc 3, which had a long hairline scratch and a very, very small gouge. i rescued the game, cleaned and perma-spinned the discs, and it was fine. until disc 3, when the game locked up during the bahamut movie! took about 2 more hours of using perma-spin (and elbow grease) to get it to run. best free game i've ever played.

What's this "perma-spin"? Some sort of disc rescue device or kit?

my turbo duo tragedy...i played all the way thru Y's books and could never beat that final boss on the space tiles...waaah so now i'll never get to play Y's II or whatever it is on the disc. seriously this pissed me off so much i spent a week trying to kill the guy, its friggin impossible.

go to www.exlumen.com - works MUCH better than ANY hand-operated machine, and won't screw up the disc or "re-surface" it... :D

Cool. Do you have to order it, or can you pick it up retail? (I don't remember seeing it.)

it's a bit hard to find in stores- it's best to order it directly, or do a search to see which retailers carry it. i've had my bottle for about a year or so, and again, it works wonders, so i guess this is a word of mouth kinda thing, lol... :D
