I think the change makes sense and is probably overdue...I can see Elizabeth Hurley as a secret agent over Dolly Parton...but the important thing will be the gameplay, not her personal appearance. Everyone agrees the last game stunk...let's fix that now that we've taken care of Lara's personal appearance.

The next one won't suck ass. Eidos hired back Toby Gard, the guy who made the good TRs (1 and 2), and Core Design has nothing to do with the franchise anymore.

Wow, this kinda sucks really. WTF. Yeah, the boobs aren't the game, but shrinking Lara croft's boobs is akin to nintendo shaving off mario's moustache. It's just one of those signature things...

My daughter loved Tomb Raider. It's the only game series I saw her take enough interest in to play nearly every title. I think it was the mix of exploring and puzzle solving that she liked, but hey, maybe she just connected to the fact that the central figure was female. I don't know as she ever noticed Laura's endowments. Never commented on them anyway. I just barely remember them as being pointy. Maybe now they are soft and jiggly. Jiggly might help the franchise. LOL

Sounds good! AoD was indeed a horrible horrible game. Even moving around was a pain.

I want to play a game where you're a single booby with a gun, and you float around screaming I AM A BOOBY and you shoot things, occaisionally you can extrude lasers from the nipple but mostly bullets and booby hovering.

This was a 2600 game as far as I recall, was it not? Well...at least it looked like a booby!

If anyone has the new GI magaizine, they spotlight the new Lara Croft game and the new 3D model, which does actually look a WHOLE LOT better. They doubled the poly-count with the new character model.

the above site doesn't have a direct comparison of the old model to the new model like in the GI article, but it does show that Lara has evolved physically into a more natural and well-balanced character......and she still has a nice rack :D

I always hated TR but now that its hated by so many other gamers now I actually like it :evil:
Ive also played many games that were a LOT worse than Angel of Darkness dont get me wrong AoD was at the very best a decent game :/ but I would rather play that than the Matrix on PS2 but they are both bug ridden messes.

Yeah, seeing those pics I have to agree. Not only does the detail on the charcter look sharper (making her even better looking) but she still has some nice well endowed thing. ;) T
Namco does make the best looking video game babes, though. :P

Appeal to more girls? Barbie is racked (and with the perkiest boobs in the world) and I've read if she was a real person she'd have to be like 7 feet tall due to her proportions. So fake body characteristics don't seem to be an issue.
Although maybe more moms will buy the game for their son/husband when they aren't so jealous of Lara's ta-ta's.

Keep in mind that Barbie too was redesigned with a smaller chest and more realistic body. I don't think it helped their sales much, though. Barbies have been crap since the early 90s, and now little girls prefer even shittier dolls like Bratz...
Well, Lara definitely appeals more to me now. :P I don't particularly want to play the game, but heck, at least she's not hideous anymore. It's a freakin' miracle.

My thoughts exactly. Though I think it's very funny that they spent two years and probably a ton of money and came up with the solution that the last game didn't sell well because her boobs were too big.
But I'm sure they'll spend any amount of money so they don't have to admit that they made a game that played like ass.
