Only listed as a prototype, looks like Intellivision productions rereleased it and looks to be quite rare judging by the sale price, link below.

This was intentional, but it's not consistent. If you look at the entry, the prototype description mentions that it was reproduced. We NEVER carry an entry for both the reproduction and the prototype, but what's inconsistent is that when both exist we usually put the repro in the "US Games" section.

So I've modified the entry to be more consistent with the rest of the database. This update will go in later this weekend.

Thanks for the heads up.

(It) looks to be quite rare judging by the sale price, link below.
Bids on ColecoVision homebrews have been climbing over the past year to near-ridiculous new heights. I'm not sure of the production run on Steamroller (though I'd guess the guys over at Intellivision Productions would share that info), but this last one fetched an inordinate sum compared to past Steamroller sales on eBay.

I have the same one as in the ebay auction. I didnt pay anywhere near this amount for it as I bought a lot of 'holy grails' through a side-deal I swung after i won an ebay auction for SuperSketch (which I paid too much for.)
Mine is not mint though because the label on the cart has started to peel a bit.

It is definitely the 'reproduction', but I think it was still made in very limited quantities and is a good game.

Other 'reproductions' like Pac-Man and Dig-dug (also among my lot of 'grails') are fetching good amounts too:

I think there should be a special category for some of these games as they were made in limited quantities and are definitely still of interest to collectors.

See my sig for pics of these and other rare colecovision carts.

Yes, you did pay dearly for that SuperSketch ($300+ if I recall correctly) ... especially given that I watched another collector pick up a sealed SuperSketch within the past month for just a bit over $200.

I'm not sure these reproductions require a special category. Steamroller was as near an authorized publication of a completed game that never saw original release. The game author was in on the release.

Pac-man, Dig Dug, and Joust weren't authorized. Someone (Sean Kelly?) just repro'd unreleased (and in the case of Joust, unfinished) Atarisoft prototypes for a CGE. To add to the mix, they were rereleased in 2004(?) by AtariAge with different labeling, again unsanctioned, then promptly fell out of circulation at the time of the Atari/Infogrames crackdown on unlicensed homebrews/prototype reprints.

They can still be bought if you know where to look (http://www.stevejuon.com/photos/OVGE%20June%2005/OVGE%20June%2005%20037.jpg)

Eh. I don't really understand why they were reissued anyway without proper clearance. Perhaps I'm in the minority in thinking that the "scene" would be better served by respecting owned properties.
