I just started playing this game
and I am hooked!!!! I have finished the first
50 puzzles and I can't stop playing.

Why had I never heard of this game?

Have any of you played it?

Am I nuts or is this a great game?

........time to start puzzle 51..............

Well it IS a clone of Mario Picross and the similar now ;)

But yeah, it's a good little game in its own right...

Mario Picross is SOOO much better.
The puzzles in it are put together much more logically.
You owe it to yourself to find it :

Mario Picross (GB)
Mario Picross 2 (import GB)
Super Mario Picross (Super Famicom)

I've beaten the first two, I'm on the SFC version
I just couldn't get into picture puzzzle as much.
Oh! you can also buy paper-and-pencil versions at the newstand (at least around here)
So I've got my fix!

About 2 years ago I started playing the ROM like crazy until it got too hard for me (I don't recall what level that was). Great game, looks like I'll have to track down Mario Picross though.

Picture Puzzle, a.k.a. Oekaki Puzzle, I absolutely love this game. Never could find a copy of Mario Picross, and when I picked this up and found out it was just like it I fell in love with it. Great game.

This type of puzzles have been around in books or magazines long before coming out on consols. Marios Picross and Picture Puzzle are as far as I know the only ones to come over here but there are plenty of them on other platforms in japan.

If you want more take a look at Ouchan no Oekaki Logic (http://www.vgmuseum.com/images/ws/64.html) for WonderSwan or the many Oekaki variations Success released on Playstation (http://www.success-corp.co.jp/software/sl2000/oekaki).

I've also made my own Picture Puzzle type game in Director. It can be quite tricky to come up with a puzzle is 100% solvable by looking at the numbers. The picture above is easy though, can you see what it is? Answer: It's a floppy disk.
