Firstly, I remember seeing screenshots of an earlier versions of Shadowrun for the SNES... in EGM, I think. Does anybody have the EGM preview of Shadowrun? Could you scan the screenshots, please? In the first city's bar, you can buy an alcoholic drink as opposed to ice tea or whatever it is in the final version. There were also visible differences to other parts of the first city. So there must be a prototype of that, unless EGM destroyed or returned their copy.
Also, when you beat Shadowrun, the developers have a little message about the upcoming sequal, Shadowrun 2. Any chance we will ever see a prototype of that?

The ending of Mac and Me also promised a sequel, what happened???

And don't forget at the end of the film versions of Super Mario Brothers and Street Fighter, they hinted at sequels.

Jagasian, that wasn't a prototype (although one may exist) those minor changes such as from alcohol, to iced tea as well as other dialogue changes were both released to the public, the minor changes were later released as a 1.1 cart, if you will.

Well, I bought my copy of Shadowrun soon after it was released and it has the "nerf'ed" dialog. Is there any way to be able to tell the difference between the original version of the game and the nerf'ed version only by looking at the packaging?

We'll probably never find a proto of Shadowrun II but a listing in the rumor mill section is feasable.

I remember renting Shadowrun for SNES when I was a kid and I particularly remember it containing far more explicit dialogue than what should have been allowed on an SNES game. I just bought it again 6 months ago or so and it was definitely different with some dialogue changes and the "alcohol to iced tea" change.

I'd love to see a Shadowrun sequel. Great game.

I am guessing that they changed up that game quite a bit for the Genesis release maybe? Or maybe I just have a really late and edited release? Example: as far as I have ever seen, you cant buy ANY drinks in the bars on the Genesis version and I have never read much bad lang in it, darn crap and occasionaly damn, but I think thats about it.

The Genesis version was made by a completely different developer. It is only related to the SNES version in its theme.
