Well KOTOR is a real RPG, and one of the best ones at that. If you have not yet played this do yourself a favor and pick it up, star wars fan or not its a great game.

PSX = Toss up between Xenogears and Final Fantasy Tactics

PS2 = Breath of Fire V (yeah, that's right)

NES = I haven't really played too much into any of the Dragon Warrior's so I'm going with the orginal Final Fantasy.

SNES = Final Fantasy 3

N64 = Paper Mario

Gamecube Paper Mario 2 (I was going to say Skies of Arcadia Legends but I'll say Skies for the DC vote)

SMS= Phantasy Star

Genesis = Phantasy Star 4

Saturn = Grandia

Dreamcast = Skies of Arcadia by a landslide

Xbox Don't know.. KOTOR and Jade Empire didn't do anything for me.

wouldent that disqualify your choices tales of symphonia and secret of mana as being traditional? I do not own these games but the method of battles is not traditional is a sense.

Traditional doesn't always mean in the Japanese style if that's how you're defining it. If anything Western RPGs are more entitled to the term.

Zelda is definitely not an RPG. It is a console-style adventure game.

1. You do not have experience points. All character improvements occur because of exploration and item-gathering.
2. You do not have a party. I guess not all RPGs have you in a party of characters, but pretty much all console-style RPGs do.
