There is an urge that comes upon me. Some say it originates with the waxing of the moon. Some say it comes from rare alignments of the planets. Some say it's probably because of boredom and access to a sewing machine. Whatever the reason, the call has come, and I must cosplay.

Bu what to do? I'm terribly picky about these things, and have several personal rules, the foremost being that it must be something unusual. This conviction was formed when I went to my first big convention and saw several hapless tourists devoured by bands of wandering Rikkus. So I thought, how about monsters? Monsters are neat, and essential to the ecosystem - without monsters, we'd have to beat up rocks! Once, you know, all the ninja were dead.

It was just a short step from there to my favorite type of monster: the reptile person. They're just so scaly and fangy and cuddly wuddly. I can think of a few offhand, both friendly and not: Bleu of Breath of Fire 3, the lizard tribes of Suikoden 3, Everquest's Iksar and Frogloks. But none seems quite perfect.

And so I turn to you, in hopes of making a comprehensive list of our digital cold-blooded friends and foes. Name me some reptiles!

How about plain old Reptile from Mortal Kombat or

Lizard King from Soul Calibur

Thats all that pops in my head at the moment.

I'm assuming dragons and amphibians don't count, or we'd be here all day listing everyone from the Battletoads to Singe to Frogger to the dinosaur from Color A Dinosaur.

Here's a few off the top of my head...

Lizzie from Rampage
Lizard-Man from Wonder Boy III
Gex
Poison Lizards, Dragon Lizards, Basilisks, Giant Snakes, etc. from the Dragon Warrior series
Sakkras, the lizard race from Master of Orion
Thrynn, the saurian race from Starflight

There are also various lizard creatures in several Zelda games, including the Tokay in Oracle of Ages.

True, frogs and dinosaurs expands the survey a bit far, so it's best to stick to good ol' reptiles.

I'll add:

Azala, the Reptites, and Naga-ettes of Chrono Trigger

Does King Koopa count? I mean, he has hair, a distinctively mammalian feature.

Drakelings from ADOM, come to think of it.

Maduesas from GoW would have to count, they are way more lizard than the old "snake hair" ones.

Those reptilian guys from Everquest... Iksar?

How about the snake from the cell phone snake games?
