It's still in stock at some online retailers. I think that more people bought it as an investment, so I'd only buy it if you're going to play it or if you collect WD stuff.

I have the deluxe and am playing it now. From a collector's standpoint, I'd say get it now before it becomes a little harder to get. But if you just want to play the game... just get the game. The watch is nice... but will you ever wear it? The cards are nice... but I didn't even open mine because I didn't want to damage them. The necklace ring is cool... but will you ever wear it?
The only notable extra that might get used is the soundtrack. I ripped it to AAC and then stuck it back in the box. But the box sure does look pretty. :)

I plan on writing a full length review for DP when I finish both games. I just finished the first... it was fun but short. WAY short. 15 hours from start to completion. On the bright side, there are 9 endings (some of which are supposed to be significantly different), so I'm gonna make at least one more run through. The other game is supposed to be a little longer.
Short: not the best SRPG I've played, but not horrible.

I plan on getting the Deluxe version because I actually want the stuff, and I don't mind paying the fairly high price because you do get a lot of cool stuff, and I like to support WD and thier efforts because they are a really good company who seems to care about the art of games.

There was actually a sort of second release. Those that bought the deluxe edition from Working Designs themselves actually got more goodies. A second and different set of mini playing cards and Growlsancer 2 and 3 pins. They arnt IN the deluxe package, but were sent along with the deluxe edition and were all packaged together in a little shrink wrapped thing.

I think Gamestop has dropped the price on the deluxe edition to $79.99...and that's how much Gamecrazy has always sold it for if you're lucky enough to have one near.
It's a nice set though, definitely. I do wish it had a hardcover manual a la the PSX RPGs they put out, but oh well. The game itself is pretty fun, I've only spent a bit of time on Growlanser 2, but it's nice to have a SRPG that's not entirely grid based!

Yeah thats what I did. Called WD and ordered straight from them. Also found out they had some really neat Saturn stuff in stock...

It's actually $69.99 at Gamestop now. The price dropped about a week or two ago. I have one in my store.
