Well, this is actually a kind of strange story, but here it goes:
A while back, when I stopped in a local EB, I saw that they had Red Alert: The Arsenal in the bargain bin. Having loved every other C&C game ever (Generals doesn't count) I picked it up without hesitation. The package came with three disks; "allied",
"soviet" and the retaliation expansion pack. I brought it home, threw the soviet disk in and installed it, then took a few hours trying to get it to work under my os. (Ack!) After figuring that out, I decided to start playing as the allies, threw the allied disk in, and was treated to some free music. In fact, according to winamp, my allied disk is actually the album "Hero" by the Christian rock group Daily Planet. Wow. So, my current theory is that my disk was at the tail end of a production run of a factory, and it was accidently written with the next order. Share your tales of similar woe here!

Ummm.. well, Strider 2 for the Playstation has the disk numbers screwed up so disk 1 with Strider on it is really Strider 2 and vise verse. :?
Other then that I bought a hardcore CD one and it turned out to have Bone, Thugs and Harmony on it instead. LOL I don't know how that happen but it was pretty funny.

I bought the DVD Myst collection only to disciver that Myst 1 disc was a complete blank. And of course I never got around to playing it until months after the purchess so it wasn't even returnable. *grumbles*

Strider PSX was the first thought I had.
The original release of Star Wars: X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter PC had the discs wrongly labeled, with a printed apology from the manufacturer in the box.

A few years ago I purchased the PSX game Power Move Pro Wrestling at Toys R Us only to find out the game on the disc was actually Ninja: Shadow of Darkness.

Back in 2002, shortly after getting my first PSX, my wife got me a used copy of Namco Museum Volume I from Gamestop. I put it in the Playstation and what booted up was...Rugrats: Search For Reptar O_O ? Being a Playstation noob at the time I thought this might be some sort of demo on the Namco disc but no, it was all Rugrats and no Namco. I took it back to Gamestop for an exchange. I explained the situation and they looked at me like I was some sort of idiot:
Gamestop - "That's impossible. The label says it's Namco Volume I."
Me - "It's Rugrats. Trust me."
Gamestop - "That's impossible."
Me - "Put it in that PSX there."
Gamestop - (/plays disc, sees Tommy Pickles instead of Pac-Man) :embarrassed: Do you just want to exchange?"
Me - "Yes, and I want to see the disc play before I leave the store".
Ponderous, man....f-----g ponderous :?

That still confuses the heck out of me that they would botch the ENTIRE mastery of the game. I've yet to come across a copy of Strider 2 that isn't swapped. I haven't had any other problems of misprinting but I did go through three copies of Wipeout 3 before finding one that would actually boot and a copy of Final Fantasy VII that was the greatest hits version that had an original release disc 1 but greatest hits 2 and 3 - and it was factory sealed. (or at least a REALLY good repackage with the sticker at the top)

I got a Bone Thugs n Harmony CD indise my case when I bought a new copy of Tool - Opiate.
Maybe they thought no one would buy their CD any other way?? ;)

A bit off topic but my Bust a move 4 for the DC has a "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" sticker on it. Its has to be franken cased. But its just so damn funny to see bub in a bubble with that sticker just to the side.

I bought a computer game from a company thousands of miles away. It came in the maill, And the label said "EXILE 3" Instead of "GENEFORGE" Well, it turned out that the game on the disc Was geneforge.
But that game is as good as gone now. It's going for trade.

When I bought my Playstion I got one of those value packs at sams club with 2 games. One was jet moto....but it was actually a differnt jet moto game. I had both so a copy of the original so I knew for sure. It was nice because otherwise I would have had 2 so it was nice. I had all the tracks from the first and second one unlocked and they ran much faster (was this just Jet Moto 2?).

I saw a misprinted Crash Team Racing at a Sears with an M rating.
I should've bought it. Too bad I didn't have enough money at the time.
