I don't care if you leave East Coast Gaming expo to start your own convention but you need get your own name.

I spoke with Joe and other members of CGE about running a show in the Philly PA area back in 2003. Only after Joe put you in touch with me did you come on board. I registered the website and have paid the bills up until this years show. I started this, I paid the bills and the name belongs to me.

No matter what are differences are you need your own name. To steal the name like this is pretty shitty. It not even that great a name. Pick another.

ecgx...ecgxpo...whatever dude

I'm not going to start a public debate about this, and after this I'd appriciate if the mods locked this thread.

Adam Harvey has done 0 work for East Coast Gaming Expo in the 2 years we've been working on the show. We partnered up and the original agreement was I'd do most (not all) of the work and he'd pay for everything. Well, he paid for less than half and I was left with all the work. I booked the hotel, I signed up vendors, I got the sponsors, I ran the website, I ran the events, I did all the PR work, and I paid for 1/2 of the cost of the hotel rental. Luckily Rob Faraldi joined the team and helped keep things running smoothly during the show.

This year Rob and myself had begun planning of ECGX2. We were WELL into the planning of the show (we had public posts about the show with dates and all, Adam is CC'ed on all e-mails I sent out to the mailing list, and at this point I had sent about 3 already, website was up with info on the show, and we still heard nothing from Adam), and Rob, as a sign of good faith, e-mailed Adam to ask him for his ideas for the show. Rob's intention of the e-mail was to have Adam say he was no longer interested in running the show and wanted to drop out. Instead he said he was interested. That was about 2 months ago. To this date, Adam has still done no work on the 2nd ECGX.

Rob and I were rather tired of babysitting Adam and having to find, essentially, chores to do to keep him busy, so we decided to continue ECGX without Adam Harvey.

Adam, with his massive ego, claims WE left HIS show. Not the case. ECGX has never been Adam's, and never will be. It was joint project between he and I. He is no longer a part of the current ECGXpo team (Rob Faraldi, Matt Carroll, and myself, Chuck Whitby).

Adam's sole interest in running East Coast Gaming Expo is
money. He's not interested in a gathering, he's not interested in friendship between gamers, he's about turning a profit. The current ECGXpo staff wants to make sure everyone knows we're in this for the love of gaming and collecting. We do all this labor, the proverbial blood, sweat, and tears we put into the show, it's for you. We love seeing everyone enjoy themselves on show day. We hope you enjoy everything we do for the show.

East Coast Gaming Expo will contiue on September 18th, 2005 in Reading, PA at the Inn at Reading. www.ecgxpo.com

I am REALLY sorry to see this happen. What is it about Pennsylvania shows that inspires such drama?

I'm going to lock this and chat with both of you guys offline.
