I've got a working SNES FF3 cart here that will not save, even with full battery power being supplied through the MAD-1, and to the SRAM.

I think it's the SRAM IC, and I want to try to replace it. Here is what it says on the chip:

MS6264CLLL
15PC
9419 KT02

A quick search of Jameco's parts list gets me this: http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&categoryId=105090

About 4/5's of the way down we get to the 6264 SRAM. I need someone more familiar with IC designations than I. Which variant is likely the one I need?

Ideas?

If I can restore save function with an SRAM swap, that's good news for a lot of SNES RPG's. I've seen save failure before (non battery related) and it would be great to restore the carts. :)

Don't know for sure myself, but if you call them, I bet they can guide you to the right one (if they have it).

The LP-10 and LP-12 are speed ratings. Your chip basically says:

Mosel (manufacturer) 6264-15

Try to find a chip with a similar rating, doesn't have to be the same manufacturer. 12 may work.

in reality you can actually use a modern 8 bit or 16 bit sram chip and just hookup 1 bit of them in not sure but i think that 6264 only uses 1 bit to r/w
and you can use bigger adress chips also but skip tha unwanted adressing legs and ground all not needed.

the easies place to find sram chips is to look on an old 286 / 386 pc mainboard they where commonly used there as either internal ram or cache.
