Anyone else have one of these when they where a kid? It's a lightgun that plugs into your TV and the games are VHS tapes!! I had one when I was a kid and just found out the name of it today (as I forgot the name cause I was about 6 when I had it) but anyhow just seeing if anyone else had one \ has one and what the after market value is on this thing and what your opinion on this game system are as I only had 1 game for it (I didn't know there was anymore than 1 unitll today either) and it was a space shooter type game I did like alot so I would like the down low on this system and\or the rest of the games if anyone has some personal experience with this system and it's big bad 5 games that are in it's library.

Seems like this should be in the VG forum...

Anyway, was this the system that has the haunted house game? I had a system with a light gun, and you I think had to suction cup a thingy to the corner of your screen and then you would pop the tape in your VCR. The only game I had was one where you were walking through a haunted house and you were shooting ghosts.

i had something like that but it didnt plug in to the tv, it was shaped like a Space Fighter and you played these mission tapes and you had to "fly" and "shoot" i thought it was cool i am gona have to see if i still have the tape somewhere... i just remember it was cool..... i know the Fighter ended up being used for target shooting when i got a BBgun..

I have a boxed Action Max with all the videos for it but I never bothered trying to play it. I really should though 'cause Pops Ghostly looks gnarly.

I'm sure it's been talked about before, but yeah I used to have one :)

Lots of fun, play some Pops Ghostly and then pull out my Captain Power videos :)

A complete set usually doesn't sell for much on eBay, sometimes as low as a few bucks.

I really need to get one myself, as I have 2 tapes sitting on my shelf.

I was at the flea market the other day and a vendor had an action max system with three tapes. The system was by itself though no gun or anything, I think. He only wanted $5 for it all, if anyone is interested in it let me know and, if he's there, I'll check and see if he still has it on Tuesday.

I had one. The tapes were neat, but it was kind of a bummer when I realized the video was completely non-interactive in that you couldn't affect the outcome of it. Since I didn't care about scoring I might as well have shot at Star Trek. From reading the descriptions I found online I think mine might have been broken, too, because it didn't superimpose anything on the screen when I shot at it.

I think I still have Sonic Fury somewhere.

Yup i had this when i was younger but I haven't heard of this for a long time, so it's kind of cool to hear about this now.

I didn't have this as a kid...
I picked up misc parts for one during the yrs at the flea markets ..I know now what those useless parts(gun) l had bought so long ago are for.
because I picked up a Boxed complete Action Max system at the Flea Market several months ago..

In the box it had a second game/VCR tape..

Within this mass..

I picked the system and 4 tapes off of ebay for less than $15 shipped, so they are relatively inexpensive. However they are really only worth playing through once though, as nothing changes in the game, and one with a good memory of where enemies are can ace the game.
