Is this that rare or this just wishful thinking?

Definitely rare. The online DP guide lists it as a 10.
I remember a nice minty boxed one went for a ton about half a year ago. This one has some nice stuff too. It's too bad about the chip and the tape recorder problems. Who knows if someone will bite for that price though?
Funny... for that price, wouldn't you throw in the Intellivision Master Unit?

Mattel only made a small number of these available to customers who complained. For more info, read the entry on this at the Blue Sky Brothers webpage. It's unknown how many remained out there after Mattel did the recall -- I've seem estimates of around 600-1000.

Do you know what that one sold for? I've never seen one for sale. $2000 doesn't seem that out of line to me. I would definitely pay $1000 for a nice loose one if I had the cash. It's one of my number one wanted items. I guess I should just be happy with the boxed Bandai Intellivision I got for $30 when I was in Japan.

The one that I was thinking of actually was just a bit over a year ago, and it went for $1700. There wasn't much discussion of it here, but it was discussed a bit on AA. It seems like the seller in the old auction had zero feedback, which might have scared some people off. He also didn't post a picture of the box, and I had to email him to get that one you see in this thread:

I thought that was alot of money at the time... and now this guy's asking $2000 for this one.

I'd go for this if it wasn't so damned expensive and if his only options for payment were ones I didn't particularilly like.
NO PAYPAL
NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

NO PAYPAL
NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
:hmm:
He only ships fully insured overseas & doesn't want to risk any mishaps on a $2K item. Seems completely reasonable to me, & he is within his rights to do so. I'm sure though if someone was truly interested in this, & had the cash something could be sorted out via email. He's also a member of this board. He's a good guy. I've bought from him several times & likewise he's bought from me. Very easy to work with.

Thanks for the recommendation Video_game_addict
Much appreciated.
And yes if someone was interested and wanted to talk
about payment alternatives and possable international
shipping I would be happy to try and work something out.
Also the Boxed test console that sold last year would have
most definitey gone higher had it not been for the sellers zero feedback, no pictures and under my radar. Even with those red flags it still managed to reach 1700

Good luck with the auction, Drew. We're all watching, at least. :)
Any history on the item, where you got it from, etc.? I'm sure that some of us would be interested in the backstory, if there was one.

No to go off topic or anything, but you have VERY nice auctions! I really like your layout and the way you can supersize the ACTUAL item you are getting.
I WILL be buying from you this week :)

Thanks,
I don't have much history on this item other then who I
got it from (Dan), not much more beyond that :(

Thank you, Nice to here. I don't get much feedback on
the layout and have been curious about what others
were thinking, especially on my other auctions were I
have the two banners and graphics at the top. I have
been thinking about removing some of it as it may be to
busy and distracting from the auction.
Thanks again
