No shipping insurance, ships to US only, $199.99 minimum bid?
No.

drex how much did you pay for yours would anybody be getting ripped by trying to get it for 199 or is that a better price. im gonna assume (until proven otherwise) that we would be getting ripped off since its been on there for almost a day and not one bid. not only that the guy only has 5 feedback pretty poor if you ask me

I paid $250 shipped for mine...and I've seen them go between $200-250 so the price is not a problem. (it would have eventually reached that price anyway).
The guy did look a little shady, but I figured I would post it anyway. At the very least, you have the paypal protection, which is usually favorable to buyers over sellers. Not sure if I would take the risk.

I'm not sure how "much" exactly I paid for mine... I bought the Starfox cart (which was a spare at the time and was sold at last year's CGE), DK cart and the Starfox jacket in one lot for about $500.

Well....
Ended for 250 US ....
Not bad ....
Actually it was bad. I won the auction and paid him the money through paypal. Then he refunded the money and said he had received a higher offer. He may have some negative feedback coming his way.
What do you guys think is a fair price for that cartridge?

Yes, $250 is a fair price for this cart, if not the going rate by now.
i would report his ass to ebay and include the email where he told you he was selling to someone else.

Burn the bitch down.
Ok. Now I'm really pissed off. The guy who I won the item said he was accepting a local bid at a much higher amount than $250. Then I get the following email:
"Hello! I've just received a mail from the seller of the Donkey Kong Competition Cart. You didn't buy it, right? Because he is offering me a new chance of buying it...thanks for your reply!"
The great thing about this is that the seller is located in North Carolina and the guy who just emailed me is located in Europe. He is going down for this one.

Hey, it's me, parafang! I've reported him: I've offered 240 usd just to see what he replies. He told me that he will keep the cart:
"Guess I'll be holding onto it then, last one sold (Ebay history) was 2001 and auction ended at $375.25 so........."
I hope that the other bidders will do the same. BTW this is what he wrote in his first mail:
"Well my buyer flaked out so I may be accepting offers
at this point?......."

I love how the DP'ers stick together. I've never had such a sucky experience using ebay. I was already planning where I'd display the cart in my house. The seller and I had several classic choice emails that we sent back and forth. He stated that he knew where I could find another copy but he wasn't gonna tell me and that it will be 3-4 years before I get another opportunity to buy a cartridge like that.
All I wanted was the Donkey Kong Competiton cart.. :( :(

don't worry: the DKC shows up 4-5 times every year. It's not THAT rare :)
And the one he was selling has a sticker on the back (ex rental) and the label is dirty (the seller sent me some bigger pics). Well, now he has been reported. And 375 usd, what he was looking for, is too much for a cart-only ex rental.

Too bad reporting the seller doesnt help anything :( I had the same problem a while ago where the seller sold the item I won to another because he got a better offer.
I reported this to Ebay and they said something like they couldnt follow it up or do anything.

Sellers Response to my emails ;
Feel free to browse the emails I sent to that bidder and confirm what steps I took, and the fact that I posted, on the listing that the item could sell locally at any time, obviously they are desperate to get ahold of this cart, and I would have been willing to help them obtain a copy had they not persisted in acting like a child & throwing petty threats at me.........
Hes an idiot,
Now he will face my ebay friends !!
To be continue .....
Needless to say that guy is lying through his teeth.
"NOTICE: This item is also advertised locally for $499.00 USD if i receive that offer, I will remove it from bidding status prior to 12hr Ebay policy......please bid before 12hrs left!"
He did not remove it before 12 hours were left and he never received a $499.00 offer. By what misjudgement of fate was he ever given possession of that game.

I think i should do something about it...
Of course you all realize that proper DP etiquette requires that you defer bidding on this item because I got screwed on the last one. :D

You should email the guy who refused to sell you his cart, and say "Thanks for being an asshole and backing out on the auction I won, now I can give my money to someone else who wants it, and will sell me a better copy than your piece of shit. Your greed saved me $250+. Thanks, and enjoy your copy you turd!"
I think I will wait until the auction is over before I say something like that. 8-)

btw if you look on qusetions and answers you may discover that the bin was $399. And this cart may go over that bin now, since it is complete and in perfect shape....
Thanks for deferring to me. (not)
Two weeks in a row I've been screwed out of the cart. Everyone seemed so willing to defer on the 6 in 1 cart for someone. How about giving nice old me a chance next time on the DKC cart?

Sorry, but this might be the most ridiculous request I've ever seen. Why would someone defer this auction to you? Not sure exactly who defered the 6 in 1 cart, but I'm sure they only did it cause they knew they didn't have enough money themselves to win. Your not the only person who wanted this thing and has been waiting forever to get it.
Read the post on the 6 in 1 and you will find several people who willing deferred to another member on this forum.
No need to get so pissy. I was only halfway serious.

The Myriad situation was because 1) a DPer only needs *1* cart for his NES collection (Myriad) and 2) the people who deferred have known him for a long time. And he didn't end up winning the auction anyway.

There are other collector on Ebay who arent DP members of course. So if someone here isnt bidding it doesnt mean it will be sold for less.
Ebay sucks the big one. Some guy named Percival has decided that there is not enough information to pursue the matter any further. Even though I provided him the email and header where that prick states my only chance to buy it is to pay $450. What more proof could I have possibly provided that he is a scammer?

NES,
That sucks that you are getting screwed out of this. I am sure that another one will come up within the next few months though, they aren't THAT rare.
On the topic of people deferring to you. There really isn't any point, mainly because even if every person on DP didn't bid, it will still go for what it is worth. There are TONS of collectors that don't visit this site (or even know about it), so this game will almost always sell for what it's worth, no matter what.
The main reason why people were going to let Darth Vader win the Myriad 6 in 1 is because this is the LAST NES game he needs. Also because they didn't want to jack up the price on him for no reason at all. I always thought if you aren't going to win the auction, why make the high bidder pay more (if you know him/her). I didn't bid on a Caltron 6 in 1 last year, because Captain Nintendo was the high bidder. I knew he wanted/needed it much more than I did, and I probabley wouldn't have broken his high bid anyway.

Exactly as imanerd0011 has said.
If you are bidding and plan to/know you will win then go for it. If you are bidding with a hope that it may go low, you essentially will cause a comrade to pay more. In this case, everyone knows about it, so bid to win as there is no hope to get it cheap.
Now if it were listed poorly or in the wrong area of ebay, it would be poor ettiquette to announce it to DP if you knew a DPer was watching/bidding on it. In that case, wait until the auction has ended and celebrate a great deal.

This is the kind of ass that would make me LOVE to do some high bidding only to back out on the deal. Of course that would be "wrong" but sweet justice would be needed.

Someone needs to email this fool and offer him like 400.00 to end the auction early and say something like this way
he can save the final value fees and as soon as it is ended I will send the payment through PayPal. Of course once he
ends the auction for the second time he will be charged the listing fees and the reserve auction fees again. After that
we can all email him and make fun of him
Haha. It ended at $102.50 with reserve not met. He's already relisted it again. He's got to be hitting himself for not taking my winning bid.

WTF man, leave a negeative! A retalition means nothing, just post a reply stating what happened. 99% of ebayers will understand. You can't let him get away with this, he's an idiot. What you need to do is open another ebay account, and bid his next auction upto $1000, and never pay. Stick him with the fees :-)

Except you may not be able to now. Or won't be able to shortly. Start a new eBay account and do that sort of thing that is.
Something new they are bringing in, means that new accounts are more scrutinised for negative feedback leaving...
