Hey everyone! I'm sure by now that most of you have heard of Namco X Capcom, a 2D strategy game for PS2 that features around 200 characters from various Namco & capcom game series, including Mega Man Legends, Street Fighter, Xenosaga, Klonoa, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and even more obscure games like Wonder Momo and Bravoman. The game looks absolutely amazing, but Namco currently has no plans to release the game outside Japan.

However, I stumbled across an Online petition asking for an Overseas release: http://www.petitiononline.com/NamXCap/petition.html

I know what you're thinking: "Crush, these online petitions never do anything!" And those thoughts are justified. But, It takes about a minute to sign, and if anything, It'll at least show Namco that there's a market outside of Japan for this type of game.

Go for it, guys!! :D

Well i've signed it, and I never sign petitions. But that game looks freaking amazing. I keep on staring at it on Lik-Sang and trying to resist buying it, even though I won't understand a bloody word of it. :/
Maybe I'll just learn Japanese...bwahahahaha

I just signed it too, something I never do online ;)

But I'm a sucker for SRPG's, and one packed with obscure Capcom & Namco characters makes it an instant buy if it comes out stateside.

Meh.. I'll sign it but I know it is just going to fall on deaf ears.

I ordered myself a Japanese copy a while ago since I doubt that Namco will change their mind. Maybe strong import sales will convince them to release it over here...

I always thought this game was a good idea ever since I first looked at some screenshots of it, but I didn't know there were no plans to bring it outside of Japan...

Oh well, I signed the petition. Hope they bring it here, cuz it looks just so freakin' awesome!

Actually, the petition idea has worked before. Konami wasn't going to release (or Sony wasn't going to let them release) Castlevania: SotN in the U.S. until the U.S. gamers started begging for it.

I signed the petition too because I think it's great to see a game that brings different worlds together that ISN'T a fighting game.

I signed it. I would love to see it released over here.

Dunno if this has been confirmed for European/USA release yet but on Play it has a release date

I haven't seen anything anywhere about it being released outside of Japan...

How can you not love this? A crossover game that appeals to hardcore collectors and nostalgia buffs? I know RPGs take longer to localize, but come on. The fans would totally eat this up in the states. And elsewhere too I would imagine. Next up, I want a Namco vs. Capcom fighting game.

Did Konami actually state that SotN was released in North America specifically because of an online petition?

Castlevania was not released stateside due to a petition. This is like the third post you cut and pasted that into.

I actually signed this one, suppose it didn't hurt me any to do it, and sounds like a nice game.

i just signed it..

at the end of the day this is what could be called an historical event two companies converging in one game, just like when capcom and snk made their series's or when konami, hudson and takara made dream mix, this is probably more substantial than the previous cross-overs and the very fact that it's not just the more recent characters included makes it even more illustrious

Not only did I sign in hopes that it would come over here, but I also made a recommendation to add Rick from Splatterhouse in a possible sequel. I figured that it couldn't hurt, eh? ;)

Bravoman! Freaking Bravoman!!

Anyway, Hardcore Gaming 101 (an utterly fantastic site where you will spend the next several hours) has an excellent piece on the game. It is not terribly favorable, though, and does not hold good prospects for the game's North American release.
