Hey guys. Just noticed this. Not many pop up on Ebay. Looks legit, but two things that bother me a little...I checked all my NES test carts and none of them have a "normal" back label and also most have regular screws and NOT security screws. The one on Ebay now has a back label and security screws. Maybe nothing, but what do you guys think?

Will definitely be intersting to see what this ends up going for.

Maybe it's a remanufactured cart? I mean, they burn the data from the test cart rom dump into a new cart?
It does look too... clean. I don't like the way it looks either.

I don't know what type of crack you are smoking, but i can't see any secruity screws on that sucker, nor regular screws for that matter.
Honestly, I don't have any NES test carts, but i would say that it isn't out of the question that there are variations on these bad boys. It would maybe even seem as if the newer ones would have secruity screws in them. Doesn't it appear as if the date on that front label says 1992? Not sure, but that's pretty late in the NES life and well into secruity screw era.
Maybe it's just me, but it looks fair game. I really have no desire (yet) to collect these. Good luck to whoever decides to bid.

and honestly, why would seattle goodwill be trying to screw over NES collectors? Assuming that the screen name is accurate.

If you look closely at the picture of the back of the cartridge you CAN tell that the screws in the two bottom holes are security screws. You can see the "flowered" edge. Also, I was by no means trying to say that Seattle Goodwill was trying to cheat anybody. I was just curious about the back label and the screws, and like another poster said there are a lot of repros out there of rare carts like this. If someone is selling a repro and doesn't realize it is one, then they aren't intentionally trying to cheat someone. I was jjust pointing it out to everyone...that's all.

yo, i understand your point completely and i wasn't trying to harp on you. Sorry if it all came out the wrong way. But for me, i still honestly cannot see any indication that those are secruity screws. I don't see the flowered edge and i still think that those screws could be either.
Also, has there been repros made of Test carts? I personally have never heard of these being remade or reproduced. I don't know why someone would go to the trouble. It seems that when people make repros, they make them so they can play games on their NES that they weren't able to play before. If this is a repro then we best keep our eyes peeled for those stadium events reproduction carts that might pop up.

Why doesn't the goodwill use Shopgoodwill.com?

It's strange that the label doesn't have rounded edges. All the ones I've seen have rounded edges including mine.

Is the grey NTF2 cart the one you have simplynes? I saw the sharp corners and all the yellow carts I have, have rounded corners, but I don't have the grey NTF2 cart to compare that with...only the other yellow test carts.

Yeah...looks like variation, but usually label variations on carts like these came from different years. Both of those pics have carts from 1989. Why would Nintendo have made a run of sharp corner labels AND a run of rounded corner labels of the EXACT same label in the SAME year. Very strange, but hey...who knows...

Why would Nintendo have made a run of sharp corner labels AND a run of rounded corner labels of the EXACT same label in the SAME year. They wouldn't. That's just the copyright year. Every licensed NES cart ever made says copyright 1985 on the back. Does that mean every cart was made in 1985? The square corner one was probably manufactured later.

The reason why the others are "straight" on the edge is because they are from a newer batch sent to test centers. That's the only reason. They are 100% genuine.
