Just bought a brand new PS2 controller, no rumble?

All of my dual shock controllers have lost their rumble over the years, so I bought a new one today, but the rumble still does not work. Could it possibly be my system? has this happened to any of you?

Well I heard that sony is being sued for the rumble function.

so it could be that sony took it out of all controllers for the moment, im not entirely sure but could be an answer.

Sounds weird to me. I have used the same PS2 controller since release without any problems at all. I would try using it in a different PS2. If it it works there, then maybe it's just your PS2. If it doesn't, your PS2 could be killing them, although I can't imagine how. Otherwise it could be bad luck.

I have had three separate N64's die on me in the past two weeks. This stuff happens.

Happend to me too, except only half the rumble would work. So I don't think its just your ps2 take em back.

Strangely, my PS2 has lost its rumble ability. Everything else works - USB, multitaps, memory cards, hard drive and network adapter, you name it. But no controllers rumble. At all. See if you can try the controller on a friend's PS2 to rule that out first.

Besides maybe wear and tear on the system that would seem like the most logical explanation.

If you use the search function you'll see a hugh thread I started a couple months ago about Sony being sued by some company over the rumble feature in the dual shock controller.

Strange...I noticed my PS2 controller stopped rumbling recently too, and I have no idea why. I haven't taken it apart to see if there's any loose connections or anything yet though.

Multi tap won't work either once you have that failure.

Nah, mine's been like that for a good year and a half now.

I also suspect it's a fuse problem, but strangely enough mine does still work with a multitap just fine. Hmm...
