and this would be for any system and any game

in n64 goldeneye, the facility level i played it for probably a couple hours and i had a shots/hits watever u wanna call it, total of like 15,000 something and kills of like 4,000 or so pretty pointless but oh well. still fun to see what pointless totals you've reached that really mean absolutely nothing in the game your playing

15,000 would be hits, I guess. I think most every hardcore Goldeneye player managed to rack up a few thousand kills in the Facility - get behind the glass door next to the security door opening into the room with gas tanks and Trevelyan after you've managed to blow your invincibility run attempt and just start blasting away. Works best with infinite ammo on, but collecting the assault rifles (uh, whatever they called the AK-47/AKS/AK-74 in that game) might help the frame rate...I know I managed to get a few thousand kills in this way before succumbing to boredom. Dual RPC-90s never seemed so pointless before! :)

I don't think anything can top that. Not even playing through Castlevania Adventure a number of times with savestates and managing to pick up all the 1-up items each time through (oh god). Or the many times I've wasted hours simply whacking weeds in Zelda games, or hunting down items/random encounters in RPGs/Fallout/GBA Castlevania games...
