Just a heads-up for my Digital Press pals:
Anybody who may have been holding off on those RESIDENT EVIL 2 and 3 Gamecube versions, Gameexpress.com has them in-stock, brand new and just $23.99 each. (They also have Code Name: Veronica for $26.99). Shipping is generally between $5-$7.
That's the best price for a new copy I've seen in a while -- just thought I'd pass it along while the going is still good (Gamestop sells them used for $40 each).

Hmm...the reprint's definitely impacting prices. Thanks for the heads-up. What're current eBay prices, anyhow?
One last thing...is there a way to tell the "original" from the reprint?

The Nintendo Seal of Quality.
The originals were released back when the words "of Quality" were still on the seal. No new games should have those two words on the seal.

If that's the case, then Gameexpress.com IS selling the originals, as that old Nintendo "Seal of Quality" is on the packaging and the discs themselves.
Fast shipping too!

Is that from an actual disc you recieved?

Ed,
Affirmative.
Just got all three today -- all brand new sealed, all have that Nintendo Quality seal on the discs and the exterior packaging. Is there something else I should look for?

They probally had leftover inserts, the games are old warehouse stock, or they just printed the old inserts without bothering to change it.

If someone purchased RE3, I can scan in my copy (purchased back when it was first released for the GC) and we all can compare.

Do you really believe that a second-string games liquidation outlet would go to such lengths in order to trick a few video game collectors?
But yeah...if it's warehouse stock, it's magical warehouse stock. The game wasn't hitting $70 because there were tons of copies sitting around. I believe all the copies printed sold.

erm the they I was referring to was Capcom or whatever factory they used to produce the game.

Yeah it being warehouse stock is a long shot (a really long one), but who knows, every so often some seller on ebay stumbles onto sealed cases of NES games.

OK just to be precise here are the specifics:
RE 2 -- Nintendo "Official Seal of Quality" on disc and case
RE 3 -- Nintendo "Official Seal of Quality" on disc and case
RE: CODE VERONICA: Nintendo "Official Seal" on case (note: does not say "of Quality"); however, the Nintendo "Official Seal of Quality" *does* appear on the discs themselves
These are definitely brand new discs with brand new manuals, mint condition, etc., so I don't believe this is some kind of ruse...could Capcom have simply made up a new run of discs?

it is a possibility... but i don't think so.
the website probably bought over stock from one of the major videogame retailers (walmart, ebgames gamestop etc...)

Is this a fact or just a swipe at Nintendo? :hmm:

My Code Veronica also has "Nintendo Official Seal" on it. I purchased it used in the summer of 2004. I have not heard of any differences between versions of RE2/3/CVX.
Prices started to tank on RE 2 around Feb/March. Dropping from $100+ for sealed and $70+ for used down to about $30-40. Shortly after that the price fell on RE 3 from $70ish to about the same. Code Veronica X never really seemed to get too insane on pricing - I think its always hung around the 30-40 mark, but it may be a little less now.
However, the dual game guides RE2/RE3 for the cube still seem to be pricey. I believe both Prima and Brady printed versions of a combined guide.

Capcom always reprints their stuff with enough interest. Same thing happened with Pocket Fighter and Super Puzzle FIghter II Turbo. Someone needs to reprint MVC2 now.

the hype has died down from RE4 so the prices have fallen. My friend got a used cpoy for $40 in gamestop and was excited :/

I'm glad I waited and didn't indulge in some of the ebay madness earlier this year when RE4 came out.
Speaking of that, I finished (and loved) RE4 and sold my copy because I needed some cash back in the spring....what's crazy is that game really had me spellbound more than any other game I've played in years, to the point where I actually bought it again last weekend used!! I'm not actually a huge RE fan but RE4 was like video game crack -- simply awesome and totally replayable.

Thanks for the heads-up!
I always wait and never pay dumb insane prices, but in the case of RE 2 and 3 I was slowly afraid I wouldn't get them for reasonable prices. Even the $24 for the games seemed adventurous for me since I bought Zero, RE 1, and Veronica new from $5 to $15. I wanted the entire RE games on the GC since I don't have any of them for other consoles.
...and the games I got today have both the original "Nintendo Official Seal of Quality" on it.
