Probably just trying to meet the reserve. It is funny to look at though. Six bids by one guy.
What makes that item so rare (obviously there's no other reason a piece of crap like that costs so much)?

I bought one a few years back. I was very excited to finally have one. But then...I turned it on. It was terrible. It was so bad I can't even describe how disapointed I was. It sat on a shelf never to played again. This year I had a friend help me out with a rental which needed work. I gave it to him as part of what I owed him for helping me out. He was very happy (he hadn't played it yet , you see) and I was very happy. The reason its so valuable is because it is so rare that very few have yet to play it. If more people had played it it wouldn't be worth so much.

I have a clear memory of an auction just like this one from some weeks ago (maybe longer). Now either I have premonitions, which I'm confident I don't, or the seller is relisting the items, the previous buyer is reselling the items, or the seller found a whole bunch of new old stock. The auction that I recall had the exact same pics & hinted at the battery compartment just like this one from what I can remember. Just thought I'd let everyone know. Definitely one sweet auction though ;)

I'm pretty sure that person was selling it before. He has been selling lots of nice stuff for at least 6 months. I also had an Adventurevision for about a week. It is NOT fun to play. It's kinda like Tiger R-Zone. A cheap handheld made in to a console with a screen.

So does the seller have four of them? It almost looks like they have a box from an old warehouse that had four systems in it. And if they have been in the warehouse box, why would you open them up to show the battery compartment? Even if they were not sealed when they were new, why not just leave them in the box and not worry about damaging anything by taking it out?
Over 2000 dollars is a whole lot to pay for something that "is not fun to play", I hope the winning bidder is a real collector!

I didnt think this was possible. If I bid on an auction that starts on $1.00 and have a reserve on i.g $50.00 I must wait untill some other user place a bid. Even if I put a max bid at $100 it will still start at $1
Or did Ebay just change this?
And about the item, damn thats alot of money. But really minty! :)

Nowadays you can play the system on the MESS emulator if you have to see what the games look like. No need to get one if you are expecting a great game system. It's more of a technical achievment than anything else. These things were quite innovative when they first came out.
I had one when they first came out and I am looking to get one more for nostalgia than to actually play one. I certainly would never spend the kind of cash people on ebay are expecting. Either I will get lucky looking around locally or I can just play the system on MESS if I want to be nostalgic.

ive bid that way before on an item i wanted without reaching the reserve.
i see nothing at all fishy about it, except it isn't the best way to bid.
