View Full Version : Good games not available in the UK?

Hi folks!
Got a friend from the UK visiting, and we wanted to try to find some games for him to buy that are good but you can't get in the UK (he's working on modding a PS2)
So far we've picked up Culdcept and Katamari Damacy.
Any others you could recommend? Hard to find a comprehensive list of what's out here and not there (and won't be coming out there)

For PS2 the problem is more the opposite in my opinion (happy to live in Europe). as Sony of America banned a lot of releases like Metal Slug 3. But to give some good games to get: The Mega Man Collection, the Sega classics, also the Growlanser game from Working Designs is worth picking up. For the rest I don't know which are worth to pick up as I mainly play 2d fighters and shooters.

I have Growlanser too, (like Katamari and Culdcept) so I can have him check it out. And you really don't need to PLAY the MM collection to decide if you want it heh.

No yo don't need any info about the MM collection before knowing you want it. Still strange it never saw a realese in Europe, with all the other MM-games getting a release.

If he hasn't done so already he should also try to get a lot of PS1 games like Chrono Cross, Xenogears, Valkyrie Profile, Parasite Eve, Einhänder, Lunar SSSC, etc, etc.

That's right, I was talking with a German friend the other day and mentioned the German sub titles of the two Xenosaga games and I found out they never got released in Europe. I'm a little surprised at that.....it seems Europe is STILL being shafted when it comes to RPG's.

Was Klonoa 2 released in europe? If it wasn't, then it's a must-have. Same thing for Shadow Hearts 1+2 if Europe got shafted on those too.

yup! Sure was, bought in on release day!

Klonoa 2 was released here (it has a 60hz mode as well) as was the Shadow Hearts games. Of course it's less expensive to buy the US versions anyway.
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (Nocturne did actually make it over here).
Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim (if you dont want to wait for the Euro september release)
Nightmare of Druaga
Okage: Shadow King
Taiko Drum Master
Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana (US release is June 28)
Might want to pick up some SquareEnix games since the European versions have horrible huge borders.
