...I gotcha! You thought you and your little ink pen could get the job done. Well I must say, it was a good effort, but still amature by any means. Even though you tried your hardest to destroy a "decient" find at the Goodwill, I managed to salvage what I could of your little "project". Muhahahahaha!
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//52.JPG
The "find of the day" at the local goodwill a few weeks back (sad, I know). Paid 2 bucks for this abused "52 in 1" pirate cart in AWFUL condition. But hell, for 2 bucks its something "cool" to have right? Put it on my shelf and it hasn't been touched until tonight...
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//B.JPG
Earlier tonight I was going through my shelf (yes that's singluar) looking for one of my Dreamcast games, when I picked up my "52 in 1" to look behind it when something caught my eye. What were those 3 little rocket lookin' thingies? Hmmm...
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//A.JPG
Well I began carefully peeling a corner of the label off the plastic, and sure enough there was another "real" label underneath X_x What could it be, what could it be!?!
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//C.JPG
Well after a few minutes of careful peeling I could finally get a decient look at the real label underneath... The original SuperVision label. Nothing spectacular, but at least it wasn't SMB/DH...
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//D.JPG
...and a few minutes later the whole label is uncovered. Well I must say it looks much better than the home made "52 Games" label that was there before. It's hard to believe that all the scrawling with that ink pen didnt mess up the original label underneath...
http://premium1.uploadit.org/mattiekrome//E.JPG
A little Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, some 409, a drop of lighter fluid, and a spoonful of TLC and it looks pretty damn good compared to what it looked like earlier! I must say not a bad find for 2 bucks at the Goodwill...

Holy crap. It's kind of like finding a new treasure in your own basement. That's awesome.
kudos!
I love finding inked carts, I got a Ogre Battle 64 with pen all over every seam in the cart, and stickers all over the label.
Wee bit o' alcahol, and it was good as new!

It's like this commericla I saw where a guy bought a painting, and ripped it out to find the Declaration of Independence inside. At the end of the commercial, everyone was doing it to several paintings to find hidden treasures like the document that founded our nation.

Just a question thou, was the upper layer sticker one that was definately home made for it or one that came with it then? or is that a mystery that only scribble kid knows?

The "fake" sticker looked like something that was smacked on there before they sold em' on the street (or where ever they sell them). Higher quality than something I could make, but still looked like it was made in somebody's basement.

On a side-note...
Some kid named Donald wrote his name not once, but TWICE on my Dreamcast controller. Who the hell writes their name on a controller? It's not as if you will lose a CONTROLLER. Ah, stupidity....

Ugh... kids and their pens...
http://www.randomsonicnet.org/workshop/files/Sonic%201%20-%20UK%20European.front.jpg
The Sonic the Hedeghog cart that I picked up recently, and it's got scribbles all over it. Not normally a problem, as you could look uder a rock on Venus and find a Sonic 1 cart. Buuut, this cart has the Japanese version of Sonic 1 inside. No idea why this is, but it pisses me off that someone scribbled all over a game cartridge.
EDIT - in case you're interested, the box and label for the game are all the standard European version. No label-swapping or anything has occured, either. The manual, however, is missing some copyright information from the back cover. I've never really worked this out - ony I've confirmed it's the Japanese version thanks to a friend with a handy-dandy Double Pro Fighter :D

Hmm
I have at least 3 dozen ex blockbuster rental carts that had the security labels ripped off and ended up removing half of the real label. So I have gotten real creative with a sharpie and drawn my own back on :)

My Ninja Gaiden II cart says "Juanky Ramon" all over it. I bought that cart almost 10 years ago, and we used to make fun of whoever "Juanky Ramon" is all the time. LOL

You're looking at it wrong, the kid didn't draw robotnik and the rabbit and such, he only drew the black ink pen parts, like on robotniks face and sonics eye

A bit OT, but what would I use to get sticker residue off a CD. I have copies of Ogre Battle PS1 and Thunder Force 5 with sticker residue on them.

I dont know about anyone else, but I always get a paper towel, some "tiki torch" lighter fluid and put just a dab on the paper towel, then "gently" rub it over the residue. Takes it off in no time. Just dont use it on manuals, near the edge of cart labels, etc. (It will ruin anything paper/cardboard in a short amount of time if your not careful.)
