Well, if you were in Japan over the summer and were buying Nintendo products, you might wabt to register yourself a chance to win these bad boys (girl, and dinasours).

Entitled "Hot Summer", the contest will take place between July 1st and August 31st this year. Japanese gamers who wish to take part must register a DS they've bought during the contest on Nintendo of Japan's site. Alternatively, registering two games (for either Cube, GBA or DS) will also earn you entry.

At the end of the competition, 1000 lucky winners will recieve one of five special DS designs, which feature a wire-frame picture of either Mario, Yoshi, Bowser, Peach or Wario, with the words "Hot Summer" underneath.

Runners-up prizes include 1000 Panasonic Walkmans and SD cards with Nintendo music on them as well as 3000 DS satchels.

Too bad we willnever get anything nearly as cool stateside. NOA just isn't cool enough for such a hot product summer. One more reason to be fed up with NOA's lack of ...... everything.

That's pretty cool. I'm actually stopping by Japan for 3 days on my vacation to the Phillipines this summer...maybe I should check it out.

Well, Nintendo *DOES* provide us with quite a variety of LE consoles stateside (NES GBA, Tattoo GBA, Two Tone GBA, Pokemon GB/GBA/GBC, DKC GBA, SMB3 GBA, Gold N64, Pokemon N64, etc etc)....at least, WAY more than Sony and MS ever do.

Now here starts the vicious cycle:

10 Nobody buys the LE cosoles because, on average, they suck.
20 They don't make LE consoles that often because no one buys them.

interesting. Those are gonna be some rare DS'es. If one popped on ebay I would probally get it since I don't have one.

One thing that site didnt mention is you can only enter if your a member of club nintendo.

Theres a few games that i want soon so i think ill give it a go. The crystal white ds with mario on looks excellent.

No, we get something much cooler. A DS that is...blue?

Or we'll get a yellow one that has the idiotic Pikachu on it.

I'd love to see a NES-colored one or a golden one with a triforce on it. Other countries get all the cool promos.
