I bought an ngage qd today, and I totally regret it. I am looking to get rid of it, is anybody interested? The system came in one of those plastic containers, so the "box" has been cut into, but the games are in like new condition. The ngage has been registered with the prepaid $10 card included, but I am sure that you can change all profile options. I am looking to sell this as a bundle, but I will sell the games individually if needed:

Super Monkey Ball
Tomb Raider
King of Fighters Extreme
Pocket Kingdom
Pathway to Glory
Colin McRae Rally 2005

Hold on a second. Have you checked out the Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, NES, and SNES emulators for the N-Gage? You can find them here:
http://vampent.com/

...note that the GBA emulator is just a beta, and you can find it on the Vampent.com forums. In the end, you can fit hundreds of Gameboy games on your phone at a time. Beats any other portable gaming system, IMO... well, until the Gameoy Micro is released. A Micro plus a very small mobile phone, together, will be smaller and lighter than an N-Gage.

It is about portability.

replied to trade offer, and as for the other messge, I did not know that. That wont sway my decision in selling the system but it is interesting that they have decent emulators for the ngage.

Are you selling the N-gage separately?

I will be if the current offer falls through. I will edit the thread if I decide to split the items.

The N-Gage is far more portable than a PSP plus a mobile phone. I never see PSP owners carrying their PSP with them in public.

Like I said, I have seen far more N-gages than PSPs. I am sure the PSP sold more, but it is just simply not nearly as portable. In the end, when people realize that they just use it around the house, they will decide to buy a better looking PS2 version of whatever game is released for the PSP. This will hurt the PSP's sales and eventually kill the system. History will repeat itself. Look at the Turbo Express, Atari Lynx, Game Gear, Nomad, etc. I mean, some PSP games have a 2 hour battery life?!? How is that portable? Do you carry around a few extra batteries in addition to a few games?

A GBA or N-Gage can store multiple games to one cart, and the N-Gage gets 10 hours of battery life while the GBA gets 20 hours. Both fit in your pocket.

What I find funny is how all of these PSP owners are freaking out about how their PSP can emulate systems that the N-Gage has been emulating for years now. Oh _and_ their PSP can play movies in a format that carries very few titles. Too bad it can't play xvids like an N-gage, because at least then you could play your own DVD rips.

You don't know anything at all about this subject yet you continue to talk as if you do.

The PSP has a 5-6 hour battery life on ANY GAME you play. It's movies that knock the battery life down to 3 hours or so.

You can convert any DVD-rip to the PSP format and play it on the PSP. Oh and it looks a heck of a lot better than on the PUNY N-Gage screen.

The Emulation on the N-gage is HORRIBLE. Nes is just now at near Full Speed and Genesis and Snes will never be Full-Speed. And they've had YEARS to try to get it there. The PSP already has nice NES and the Genesis and Snes will be there soon. And they've been working on it for all of what.... 1-2 months.

And I've NEVER seen a person carrying or playing the N-Gage and yet I've seen a ton of PSP's.

So please stop being a Fanboy. The N-Gage was a neat little system that was done HORRIBLY wrong. I personally own the original and the QD. But it will NEVER be the equal of a PSP. So just let it go. :)

Maybe you need to look in the mirror. I have never seen somebody get so upset over a comparison of game systems. I only recently bought an N-gage QD when the price dropped to $99. I am hardly a fanboy, and mainly I just wanted a phone that could play Gameboy games and MP3s as opposed to a phone that could only play a few crappy built-ins as was the case with my previous mobile.

Fanboyism is getting all excited about homebrew emulators, which other portables and consoles have had for years now. Fanboyism is not being able to see the facts. It is a documented fact that PSP battery life varies depending on the game you play. Ridge Racer has a battery life documented between 1.5 and 3 hours! (http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=7467) Lets not even comment on battery life when also using wifi. Such short battery life dimishes the system's use as a portable. I am sorry that hurts your fanboy feelings.

If I am biased towards any of these platforms it is the GBA line. The best portable platform, IMO, is the GBASP, soon to be one-upped by the GB-Micro (cuz it will be smaller and lighter). Long battery life, small, light weight, and inexpensive, which is important because something carried with you on a daily basis is going to get abused. It also has a great library of games and good flash carts for increasing portability by making your own "playlists". It is too bad that Nintendo shot itself in the foot by dilluting their own market with the release of the DS - a very poor portable as it is too large and heavy to be a practical portable gaming system. The DS screams Virtual Boy 2.

"Portables" like the DS and PSP are mainly played around the house. Any public use is mearly due to the hype around these two systems. That will pass. Hence the question remains, why not just play on a full featured console hooked up to a big TV? This is exactly why other portables have died out in the past. They weren't portable enough.

Get upset ?

Please do any of my posts have a trace of anger in them ?

Nope.

And I don't have to look in the mirror.
I have almost EVERY portable made and I KNOW which ones are better and why they are.

But at least I OWN all the portables I post about, so I can post about them without being biased and just re-stating some crap I heard on the internet.
