I had a rather impressively large score.. went to a gamestore in my city with a few things to trade I didn't want anymore, in the hope of picking up King's Bounty for MegaDrive... I did, and when the owner mentioned a discount for getting more stuff, I picked out Golden Axe 2 and Space Harrier 2 as well, which wiped out my credit.

I got talking to him for a while, however, and he mentioned a bunch of Japanese MegaDrive games he couldn't get rid of, and offered them to me "really cheap". Really cheap turned out to be $AUS2 a piece, and almost all of these are boxed:

Originals:

Hard Drivin' (boxed)
Ghostbusters (boxed)
Side Pocket (boxed, a little label damage)
Street Fighter 2 Plus Champion Edition (boxed, little label damage)
Gain Ground (boxed, no label at all)
Aladdin (boxed/complete, Asian version - English and Korean manuals)
Castle of Illusion starring Mickey "Let's Fuck The Public Domain For Dollars" Mouse (boxed)
The Super Shinobi (boxed)
Alien Storm (boxed)
something-or-other 2 (boxed, looks like an anime based game)
Rambo III (boxed)
Wrestle War (boxed)
Advanced Military Commander (boxed) - awesome war game, wish I could read Japanese!
DJ Boy (boxed, label damage)
After Burner 2 (boxed)
Super Thunderblade (boxed/complete)
Aero Blasters (boxed)
Shiten Myooh (boxed)
Fatal Blow (boxed)
Bare Knuckle (in a box, no inlay)
Super Hang On (in a box, no inlay)
Dick Tracy (boxed/complete)

and a bunch of pirates:

Golden Axe
Golden Axe 2
TMNT Hyperstone Heist
M1 Abrams Battle Tank
ESwat Cyber Police
Batman
Rolling Thunder 2
Shadow Dancer
World Cup Soccer
X-Men
Michael Jackson's Moonwalker

So for about $AUS70, I'm up to my wang in
MegaDrive games.. and the guy gave me posters
for Jade Empire and Halo 2 as well. I hereby have
a new favorite video game store in Perth.

Edit: Looks like something-or-other 2 is Mystic Defender

I compiled Friday and Saturday into one post!

I went to EB last night and bought these:

Get on Da Mic (PS2, complete) - $11.69 (I've heard it sucks, but I'd rather play it than Karaoke Revolution because I know more songs on it)
Street Racing Syndicate (XB, new) - $10
Theme Park (PS1, jewel case, complete) - $2.69

Then, I hit the yard sales this morning:

PSone with Sony AV, gray boxy plug and blue memory card - $5 8-) (I almost wept because I love these systems so much, and it's good to have a second one)
Resident Evil 2 (PS1, loose) - 50 cents (anybody got a case and manual for this?)
Official PlayStation Magazine 29 demo disc - 25 cents
PlayStation Demo Disc - 25 cents
loose R-Zone head display unit with Independence Day, Indy 500, Star Wars carts and manuals - $2
Insomnia DVD (complete) - $1

The last yard sale was the best find overall. For $5, I got the following 10 loose NES carts:

Alien Syndrome w/manual
Boulder Dash w/manual
Captain Skyhawk w/manual and clear case
Die Hard w/manual
Eggsplode/Short Order
NES Play Action Football
Super Pitfall w/manual
Tecmo Super Bowl w/manual
Track & Field II
Wrath of the Black Manta w/manual and clear case

It's funny because when I was looking at the game stuff at the last yard sale, I happened upon a yellowed SNES and a case to put it in. I heard a shrill voice yell, "That's already sold!" I turned around, and it was an MILF who had just bought it. I yelled, "Oops, my bad!" and turned my attention to the NES cartridges. As I was moving my stuff around in my trunk to take my finds home, she pulls up beside me and says, "I really wanted that Super Nintendo! It was 5 dollars." I smirked and said, "I don't care. I have 3 of them at home." She got POed and sped off...I probably should have gotten her number.

Snes model 2 with 2 controllers and AC adapter - $2
2 SMB3 cartoon vhs tapes - .50 each

I'm thrilled over the snes2. I've had a box for one for over 2 years, and now I've finally found a system to go with it!

Bought a complete Jungle Book for the NES at the flea market today. Was so happy that I finally found the cart, I didn't bother haggling the seller down from their $10 asking price.

weird finds today:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v421/CrushCrawfish/000_0266.jpg

Xbox Metal Slug 3 (like new, complete)- $8

3DO games (first time I've ever seen any!) all .50 each:
Madden Football (disc only)
Space Hulk (disc only)
Syndicate (disc only)
Starblade
Crash 'N Burn
Slam 'n Jam '95
Myst
Shockwave
Burning Soldier

Can anyone tell me if those non-disc only games are complete? I always thought that 3DO games had outer cardboard boxes.

Every game I got today was for a system I don't own. :/ Oh well, still pretty cool!

Oh, I am so sad right now. I know exactly which store you're talking about, and I'm going to go in there on Monday and thump Michael in the head! I've wanted those games for AGES and he'd only sell them to me for $10 each! GRRRR!!!!

Thanks to me, there is no boxed Sonic 2 in your pile of goodness. ;) And give me the one with the Initial D looking dude on it, kthx!

HOWEVER. It is nice that you've started going to that store! Too bad it was on a day that Steve wasn't working, otherwise we would probably both have been there to annoy the crap out of ya, mwahaha. LOL

Found at Walmart:

Duel Masters: Semphi Legends - SEALED (GBA) [x2]
Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics - SEALED (GBA)

They were each $2 (because the Duel Masters were out of the plastic and the Yu Yu Hakusho had a fairly crushed box). Still, I think they were a pretty good deal.

Also, got given:

Daffy Duck (Game Boy)
Mortal Kombat 3 (Game Boy)
Dark Castle (Genesis)

Not game related but I got a Wacom Graphire2 Tablet (blue model) for free. My best haul of the day. :)

Funny story about my weekend gaming score... I discovered that the guy who runs the game booth in the flea market will trade 2 for 1 straight across - makes sense since (pun) he just prices across the board anyway. I happened to have a couple of leftover NES, SNES, and N64 games from a recent eBay auction. So I wandered in and he was willing to take 8 of my SNES and 2 NES.

I had already looked and had a good idea of what I wanted (including Final Fight 3, Bombman and the Spider-Man Venom), but before I wandered over, he told me he had a few that were not out on the shelf yet. He let me look at them... and I beheld Mega Man X2 and X3! I remained calm and chose those two games. I then picked out the rest of my trades and wandered back to the table.

He picked up the X2 cart and put it in a SNES to show that it worked. Fine. He tried the X3 game and nothing happened. I was about to tell him that it didn't matter much, I would clean them when I got home anyway and carts are more-or-less indestructible.

Before I could even open my mouth, he reached over and grabbed a nail file and started filing the connectors inside the cart. I nearly had a heart attack.

As I stood there with my mouth open, he explained that this was the best way to clean connectors - people are morons and think that dirty carts are broken. He then confided that alcohol is his last resort for cleaning.

All I could think was "This man just raped my Mega Man X3 cartridge with a nail file."

True story. No lie.

Apart from that I also grabbed a sealed Gungriffon Blaze. Who sells a sealed Working Designs (http://www.workingdesigns.com) game? Really?

Total cost for the venture: 8 crappy common SNES carts, 2 crappy common NES carts and $11.00.

Yeah... but I stopped to think about the number of carts I've bought over the years... and I nearly wept.

I need to open a gaming store. That's my solution.

Wow...I've been gone, what, over a month? Went to Japan in that time (got back a week ago...really shoulda stopped in sooner!)...more about that later, though. First, the stuff I got before leaving:

http://img247.echo.cx/img247/1114/stuff11rq.jpg
PS2:
Hypersonic Extreme
Megaman X8
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner (first time I'd ever seen a copy of this in the wild)

PS1 N2O Nitrous Oxide
GCN Timesplitters 2

Also recieved these in the post...not entirely game-related, but perhaps someone here will find them interesting. ;)

http://img160.echo.cx/img160/9516/stuff25qr.jpg
Some nice LP/EPs from Finnish label Rikos Records...basically electro/chiptune stuff.
Tero - Cracker's Revenge (made entirely on the good ol' C64)
Dr. Robotnik - Death & Destruction (apocalyptic electro...one of my favorite artists, plus he's got an awesome name... ;) )
The other two are less interesting to you guys...

And lastly, my haul from Japan. This load completely filled my backpack...
http://img225.echo.cx/img225/3729/stuff33vx.th.jpg (http://img225.echo.cx/my.php?image=stuff33vx.jpg)
Click for a closer look. Lots of cool stuff here...some of the PSX games will be going up for trade, though, since when I bought them I didn't realize they didn't have spine cards.

Full list:
PSX:
Einhander
Exector (contender for WORST GAME EVER MADE -- from the people who brought us Guilty Gear!)
Internal Section
Kitchen Panic (never even seen this one on Yahoo Japan...)
Omega Boost
Oni Zero
Ore no Ryouri (cooking action!)
PAL (actually an NTSC game...har)
Philosoma
RayStorm
Zeiramzone

Famicom:
Baseball (they stuck this in my bag at Super Potato without me noticing...nice free gift as I was going to get some to send to friends, anyway)
De-Block
Devil World (so very cool...NOA denies this exists!)
Hector '87
Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey Bu (Kunio!)
Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu (More Kunio! Awesome game...no manual, though, curse my incredibly poor Japanese skills)

Gamecube:
Dream Mix TV World Fighters (Hudson's laughable take on SSB)
Naruto Ninja Gekitou Taisen 2 (not a fan of the anime, but this is an outstanding 3D fighter)
Nintendo Puzzle Collection (in bigass box with a GBA cable)
Star Soldier

Megadrive:
The Newzealand Story
Pulseman (a friend of mine in New York is cursing me to no end for not giving him this)
Sonic & Knuckles (amazing what this goes for compared to the first three...absolutely mint, too)
Zero Wing

Super Famicom:
Super Tetris 2 (again, no manual...rrr...)
Zenki...something...platformer... (brand new...was marked down to 200 yen. From 400 yen. And they only charged me 150 for it. It's not THAT bad!)

I think in all I spent around $400, though that includes a handful of things I picked up for a friend. Not sure if he's posted yet but it's some nice stuff... ;) Also includes some CDs I got...Denki Groove, Boom Boom Satellites...some of it a bit pricey...

...yeah, sorry for the really long post, but again, I've been gone for too long. ^^;

I know I promised a full report of my trip with lots of pictures...I have the lots of pictures, I just need to get the actually written part written! Narcisissm forthcoming!

These are so much more fun with pictures! We can actually see what's been bought rather than some random names.

I haven't bought anything for a while. I've finally got over my addiction to buying games. It may not sound like a bad thing, but I only get £10 a week pocket money and I was spending £20-30 each week. When I get a job I'll start buying some more.

There are some good megadrive games in your haul, cauterize. I'm interested in Fantastic Dizzy and Mickey Mania. They were some good games. I'm also interested in that sonic ball toy thing, what exactly does it do?

Cheers!
FYI Mickey Mania is for trade :P so if you want it jsut send a Trade lsit into my PM box... most of the MD games i got were for trade apart from KrustysSFH, FD/CS, JamesPond2, Muham Boxing, Quackshot and the Pirate cart

I also have around 50 MD games for trade, so if u want a list let me know!

The Sonic thing is jsut some game where u have to get the ball to the top of the tower, similar to "Kongman" a toy released around the time era...

Not gaming related, but a nice find all the same.

Eckerd is having 75% off all non-brand new DVDs, I went to 3 and got all this for under $50.

I haven't posted finds in a long time myself, but I'm not gonna go tracing back. Too much work and nothing really too spectacular.

From Friday at a rummage sale:

http://img122.echo.cx/img122/6034/school021cropped3rg.jpg

Sega McDonalds (dead)
Madden 2002
little Pickachu
Super Mario 3
Bionic Commando manual

See that giant paper bag on the left? The rummage sale was charging $2 PER BAG of stuff! Unfortunately, the place was picked dry by the time I got there. The guy taking the payment let me have it for $1. At first I didn't see the SMB3, but on my second pass it was on top of some boardgames. Some lady must have found it behind some stuff and put it on top. I dug behind the pile and found the Bionic Commando manual. I'm guessing there was a stack of games and maybe a toaster NES but someone got to them earlier. Oh well.

All from the same sale

Nes ,N64, PSX and dreamcast systems all complete w/ 2 controllers each for $50. 5 games with the nes, 5 games with the n64 , 6 games with the dreamcasr and 1 with the psx. Not a bad deal overall. The kid must have decided to dump all his past systems all at once. I am sure he will regret it later when he is older.

last night the resort that my store is located on had a mini flea market for all the guest to sell whatever they wanted to. i was walking around, not really finding much of anything of interest, except for a "where's waldo" street fighter 2 book for 25 cents (has anyone ever seen this before?) when i went to this lady's table and she had a ps2 in a box in a grocery bag underneath her table. i asked her about it and she said that she thought it worked, but her nephew tested it out and it doesnt work so she didnt want to sell it anymore. i looked at it and it was complete with hookups and the controller (it was also a "plus" system) so i asked her if i could buy it just for the parts and she said "you know what? give me a dollar and its yours!) so i bought it which was a good deal because i sell the hookups for $7.99 a piece in the store and the controller for $12.99 and a broken ps2 deck on ebay for about $30-40 so all and all it was a good deal........but wait it gets better! so out of curiousity i hooked the system up and IT WORKED 100% FINE! so i sold it this morning complete for $99 (what i usually sell ps2 systems for) and made $98!

I made the find of a lifetime.

Technically it was last week, but I've been hiking through the Cascades, and Elk don't need DSL.

My girlfriend's grandmother, of all people, is a gamer from way back, but has no interest in collecting. So, when we made the cross country trek to visit, she was more than happy to unload all of her "junk".

@_@

Well, there wasn't much you could do.

But, next time you see him, Try to convince him that he has it backwards. (If you didn't try to convine him then)

If you have any games wich contacts are VERY Messed up (Such as a NES game wich looks like it was blown into almost every day since it was bought) Then take that with you to help you convince him.

BTW Everyone else..

Good finds.
