I recently got my 1st Saturn system for my collection, and I am now trying to figure out which games woul dbe better buys. I prefer RPGs, but I also like action/adventure and so forth. I dont do sports games though. Sega has enough of those, and I have enough, so I think this one system Ill stay clear of sports. I know that these boards have the best gaming community out there, so I know you guys will have some great suggestions. Thanx in advance.

P. Dragoon anything. Knights into Dreams is a system sleeper as well. Get a 4meg card and there are several arcade perfect fighters.

I was surprised when I got my first Saturn about the number of quality games I missed out on. Back when it came out I thought the system was weak but it is an equal to the PS1 and in some ways better. There are some real 2D gems in the lineup.

I still want to see that Zork import game for the system.

So does the US Saturn play import games, or do I need some sort of adapter? Also, will I need to learn Japanese ;)

Yeah, but you need a 4in1 meg action replay card. This will give you the necessary memory expansions which are required for some of the fighting games, and will act as a boot disc for all your imports.

Most of the best shooters for the system are only from Japan, and you don't need to know japanese at all to play them. Although if you're going to play some of the weird little dating games or an RPG like Grandia, you better know yourself some japanese ;D.

..and on Ebay that is a 5in1 not a 4in1 and you might get one from a vendor as they are notorious for not working.

Hellvin hit it on the head. However, you won't be able to play multidisk games with the ram-cart or a swap trick. It just doesn't work.

Just a hypothetical question, what if I were to look up "Knights into Dreams" on eBay?

If you're into action/adventure, you simply can't go wrong with Legend of Oasis.

Panzer Dragoon Saga is an excellent RPG, though it's quite short by RPG-standards.

Shining Force III is always a great buy if you're into Strategy RPGs.

Dark Savior MIGHT be up your alley, but the control scheme is all sorts of retarded (just like Landstalker).

Guardian Heroes had a nice stat building system mixed in with its beat em up action. Hell of a fun game, especially 2p.

Random other stuff I liked that you might or might not like: Darius Gaiden, Daytona USA CCE, Die Hard Arcade, Galactic Attack, House of the Dead, Mass Destruction, Nights, Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, PTO II, Saturn Bomberman, Sega Rally, Sonic 3D Blast, Tempest 2000, Three Dirty Dwarves, Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter Remix, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtual On.

Just a hypothetical question but are you bringing anything more to this thread?

Gungriffon is excellent. And probably cheap and plentiful as well.

Two weeks ago I would have agreed, but I fired it up the other day and was saddened by how poorly it has aged. The mission structures and control are just too primitive, though I guess if you imported the sequel and had some twin sticks you could have some fun.

The Intro (http://www.roushimsx.com/stoofoo/videos/Gungriffon_Intro.avi)sure was nice, back then though. :)

Slightly offtopic, but how were the PS2 and Xbox sequels?
