Is Suikoden II (even complete) really worth $99 all of the sudden? I remember picking it up nearly a year after release in Target for something like $20...not exactly hard to find. That auction isn't an aberration either, merely an example. What's going on here?

I dont know either I recently sold a copy Buy It Now for $105. Thinking about selling the one I planned on keeping as well. I don't think they can possibly maintain that price.

To me,that looks like that is too high to sell that game.I only paid 29.99 and it was better then paying 100.00 for it on ebay.

Sealed copies sell for even more. I recall one not too long ago going for $150 BIN sealed!

A few months ago when we went on a game store buying spree and Lexicon was buying every one he saw for $30 I complained that we probably wouldn't get a good resell out of them all.
I have since eaten those words many times over. Coming soon, Lexicon's "it's going to be expensive soon" ebay predictions. He hasn't been wrong yet!

Fact 1: Konami made Suikoden 2 in relatively small quantities.
Fact 2: The Suikoden series has a decent cult following and recently grabbed some attention with the release of Suikoden III on the PS2.
Fact 3: RPG fans generally have a good deal of disposable income.
Fact 4: Suikoden 2 is regarded by many, including yours truly, as an excellent RPG.
Fact 5: Albert Einstein's brain is kept in a bottle in a small-town doctor's office near Kansas City.

Here's a tip on what to buy: If a big title is coming out in a few months from a series, pick up older versions of that series. Recently, titles that have had a major price bump include Suikoden, Suikoden 2, Super Metroid, the older DDR's.
Wait to sell the old Zeldas till April and you'll make a brick.

I'm among that cult following. The only reason I waited to pick up Suikoden II was because I had a bazillion Square RPGs to play at the time of it's release. I picked up the original Suikoden the day it came in at Media Play, and just picked up Suikoden III last night (waited until I finished Wild Arms III). I almost threw up when I realized that my Suikoden II save had somehow disappeared, but luckily (from reading at GameFAQs) it doesn't appear to add much this time around.
I feel bad that I'm even *thinking* about selling my copy of Suikoden II, much the same way I feel whenever I consider selling off something like Chrono Trigger.
