It's been a long time since I've updated the pictures of my room and collection. I set some time today to poke around and photograph various areas and sub-collections.

Feel free to add comments to the photos themselves!

Joe,

I forgot to add.... why no pics of the Gameboy Display? I was watching it a few months ago, and I remember you were the person who won it. I'd like to see pics of that baby in action, if you feel like taking a few more pics. Thanks :)

I'll bet there are at least 100 game related items in that room I didn't have a clue exsisted. It would be like, "Atari 2900? INTV 4?" or something.

In a PM sent to me from DP yesterday:

Gemini - I'm really desperate for some quick cash - How would you like to buy my entire collection for £100? Huh? C'mon man, you know it's a bargain...

Like I told you mate - Fifty quid's my final offer! You'd probably get about £70 down GameStation though...

LOL

You have a very awesome collection. I can only fathom the actual number of games you own. :eek 2:

With acollection that size, it gets to a point where youhonestly can't keep track of what you have and what you don't.

I only have about 600 games, and I stil manage to confuse myself and buy doubles! Lol!

You know, you'd think that - but I must have a photographic memory for this kind of stuff. With very few exceptions I know what I own and what I don't. As you can tell, I'm kind of an organization freak.

It's good to have a talent! God knows I can't dance.

There actually is a 2900...
Well, thats what it was called in Japan anyways..

Now that is sweet :)

It is also how I'm aiming to get something set up like once I move into my new place and actually have a whole room (yes, a room for it at last) for my collection.

@GP - regarding keeping track of collections, I seemingly have it all in my brain as well. And that's over 1000 C64 games plus all the other stuff I have for various consoles.

I can't dance either btw... well not that well as least :P

Somewhat unrelated but I noticed that in the CommaVid picture all of the games had the number 6 on the box spine. I always assumed that was the number of the game by CommaVid which obviously isn't the case. What is the significance of the "6"

jajaja

I guess some pics contains much of the same games, or?
How many games do u acctualy have and how much have you insured it for? :)

Its an awesome collection, no doubt!

Its not a 6. It's a comma, that's CommaVid's logo :)

I was blown away at seeing your room. Words cannot describe it. I was most impressed at how organized it is. Everything has its place, and the space is definately utilized! I love the spinner tower idea, and it gave ideas for my soon-to-be-transported game room to Washington.

A thing of exceptional beauty, sir! I've seen people with big collections THROWN around a room, packed into corners, shoved into cupboard, etc, so when you see a room like yours with everything 'in it's place' it really reflects the way you feel about the games. Your's truly is the domain of doom!

Most impressive indeed.

However, regarding your Sega CD collection, I couldn't help but be distraught and taken aback by the lack of CoMR and the X'Eye packins in the shot.

I know you have them because you sold my friend a CoMR from your trade box.

The very elusive CoMR deserves to be in any picture where a complete Sega CD collection is featured ;)

Very Nice Joe! I am between Rooms of Doom at the moment, but I'm hoping to have something nice setup again near the end of summer...

Cheers!

When I went to Joe's last fall, my mouth was hanging open for most of the night, and that was just downstairs. I didn't see all that stuff upstairs, holy guacamole. @_@ It is extremely well organized, and there's also plenty of room for lots of people to mill around. And as a host, Joe makes Richard Dawson look like Satan. :devilish: LOL

That's absolutely sick Joe, nutty. I see no supergun though :(

Out of curiosity, what about things like:
oddball hardware
PC Engine games
portables like the NGPC
Neo Geo AES or MVS

Not that you don't have a crazy-wide array of things already though. Methinks your collection exactly complements my own like puzzle pieces.

I still couldn't easily take pics as I have no Room of Doom, merely 2 Closets and a Shelf of Two of Doom.

what a pitiful collection. so tiny, where are the games! -_-

That sounds more like my collection. When I buy my stuff, I try to get them as cheaply as I can usually, so I end up with only 1-3 games on systems.

Colecovision ($12): 3 games. It came with 2, only bought 1 seperately so far that I specifically wanted.
TG16 ($15): 1 game - Yep, Keith Courage. :embarrassed:
VirtualBoy ($4-$5): 1 game - Yep, Mario Tennis.
Atari 7800 (Under $10?): 3 games
GBA ($30): 1 game
SegaCD ($50 w/ box & Gen + 90 day warrenty): 3 games

I did have 5 complete SegaCD games I got cheaply but in a stupid act I sold 3 of them (for a good profit mind you) on ebay when I didn't have a SegaCD system. The two I was left with simply didn't sell for the prices I was asking. And the other (Sewer Shark) just seemed to pop up out of nowhere. Seriously. I don't know where it came from! It didn't come with the $50 boxed system. It just seemed to appear out of thin air one day. I must have been in a fog the day I got it, like the 7800 which i don't recall the cost of. Normally I remember closely if not exactly what I paid for each system I own.

Loose stuff is kept in boxes in the closet in the upstairs room. The Supergun is handy but there's nowhere to display it!

Out of curiosity, what about things like:
oddball hardware

My PC Engine stuff is in the Upstairs room spinner, I have several hundred of them there. What you can't see is the stacks of loose Hucards on top of this spinner:
http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/digitalpress/DCP_2628

I don't have a lot of Neo Geo AES, you can see them stacked to the right of the Saturn games here:
http://videogamecollectors.com/gallery/digitalpress/DCP_2660

I have very little NGPC stuff, and what I have is 90% loose

Without a doubt, you have the best collection I've seen yet on these wonderous forums. Though, you could really do with a bigger, more organized room :) Fantastic stuff, man! Thanks for showing us!

Nice collection DP, even more impressive than when I first saw it a couple years ago.

What's the thing connected to the underside of your PSone/LCD combo?

Doubt I'll ever find one though. Japan/US exclusive?

I was so very happy to see your collection in "spinners," as I bought a BIG one of these recently and was worried that no one else was using them.

I set mine up last night after seeing these, and so far, so good.

Great pics!

Hello! Awesome collection!

Curious about your NES collection.. is it complete, and which of the rare unlicensed do you have or still need (e.g. Panesian, Caltron)?

Not complete. I had a shot at it but have sold or traded two Panesians, Stadium Events, and even a sealed 6-in-1 to more serious NES collectors.

Maybe someday I'll revisit that, but it's not a priority for me.

It's at this point I'd like to profess my love for this site. Out of all the posts only one was gamefaqsesque and I'm sure dj was just kidding. It's so nice not to see, statements like "get a life", " bet you don't have a girlfriend" or "get a girlfriend" and "what a loser, most of those suck" or similar type drivel. Yes, I know Joe is married.

Joe I commend you for you love of games and your vision of why this site started and what it has become. Thanks!
