Any thoughts? We did this last year, and portnoyd, Kid Fenris, Achika, Wizdawg, Eternal Tune, and I had a good time. Anyone up to do it this year?

I was thinking maybe July 16th or some other Saturday in July.

(wish I could go to Cedar Point, but sadly $$ is too tight)

dammit bargora you NEED to come

Let's see, where should the next outing be? Here are a few ideas:

Wyandot Lake
Kentucky Kingdom
Geauga Lake
Indiana Beach

Or King's Island/Cedar Point again? Anyone have a better amusement park idea in mind? :hmm:

Wyandot Lake (for those that don't know) is mainly a water park, with a few other rides...right next door to the Columbus Zoo.

If this gets together soon, I may be able to make it, but Saturdays are really bad for me with the Titanic exhibit and all that...so I need notice.

I <3 Cedar Point, but I'd be willing to consider other spots. However, July 24 and the weekends surrounding it are out for me, 'cuz I'm travelling to Japan for a friend's wedding. Maybe August?

We can throw around ideas for both venue and time here, I figured.

I wouldn't mind having the CP gathering in Sept again that was fun and the weather was perfect.

But I wouldn't mind driving to King's Island again, did you get a season pass this year Oobgarm?

What is the Kentucky Kingdom?

September would be pretty nice. It's not difficult to get time off of work/school if it's on a weekend, and it was really nice weather. Plus it's outside of the general vacation season.

September fits me really well also, Titanic closes on the 5th, and then I'll have about a week or so where will be closed before even thinking about work again. So that sounds like a great time to me :)

Yes, I did. A good deal since I live so close to the place.

CP in September diesn't sound bad at all. Halloweekend last time was awesome.

Only catch abiout KI is that they're only open through the first weekend in September. Then they're closed until October.

I know it's kind of a long ways away but I think we should set Saturday Sept. 24th as the Cedar Point gathering(DPCP05). This way it gives people plenty of time to plan their weekend and if they are low on funds save up enough to attend.

Oobgarm if Cincy classic ever gets it's stuff together and they decide on a place and date I wouldn't mind going to KI when I'm down there. Say if the show is on a Saturday we could go on a Sunday?

The Halloweekends at Cedar Point are great. My wife and I went last year and I've been to several in prior years.

I haven't been to Kentucky Kingdom, Kings Island or Geauga Lake in a long time. I'd like any of those.

Cedar Point is the easiest for me, it's the only guaranteed trip my wife and I take every year. The first DP event I ever made it too was at Cedar Point. I got lucky and it fell on the weekend we'd already planned on going.

I could be into that. I've been wanting to return since the last time we all went. Not only to ride Millenium Force again but to see that awesome arcade.

bump!

Just checking if there is anymore interest in a Cedar Point trip. I haven't been to any amusement parks this summer and I'm itching to go.

Hey, I'm still interested. I don't think I have anything planned for Sept. 24, either. Anybody else out there? Beuller?

Well, we've done DP@CP'03...

And DP@KI'04...

Might I suggest THIS EVENT (http://www.renfestival.com/) for this year's Ohio gathering?

Forsooth. :D

Although that looks interesting, it's not my cup of tea. I'd rather ride coasters and play arcade games. However other people may enjoy that since it looks like there isn't much interest in Cedar Point.

OK then...how about THIS:

www.ccagshow.com

It's fun - small, but fun. Everyone could bring tradebait. We could get a vendor's table or two. Order 'za. Wear your DP shirt. This could be a fun afternoon with a handful of Ohio DP attendees.

I would be down for Cedar Point, but I can't make that date.

September 18 = East Coast Gaming Expo
September 24 - August 1 = Away to the beach.

I'd also be up for CCAG - and barring any racing or anything, I'm sure bigdaddychester is down too.

We've talked between the two of us about doing a West Virginia/Ohio/whoever else meet here somewhere also this fall, but we've both been swamped, so that hasn't made it much further than the kicking around of ideas.

Oct. 22 is a very do-able date. I think racing season is going to be wrapped up midway thru september. And as my moto usually goes.....if it's free, it's for me! I'm going to look at this a bit more. Anyone else interested in going?

As Nick said, we'd hoped to put something together (DP family summer blowout/cookout/swapmeet) for anyone in the WV, KY, OH area (actually it really didn't matter where you're from) but with a new job and a new son, it's been tough to plan much of anything. Hopefully we can still plan something to do this but it may be in the spring.

Well, I'm not sensing a lot of enthusiasm for Cedar Point here (Wizdawg aside :) ), but I'm up for CCAG.

Sniderman
09-07-2005, 09:16 PM
Well, I've signed on to be a vendor at CCAG, so there'll be at least one or two tables to hang out at. I may even bring the Vectrex for a Nebula Commander tourney. ;)

Sniderman,

bigdaddychester have made plans to make the trip up to CCAG - I'm going to snag a vendor table if they have one left, and Brian probably will also, so that'll add another one or two for the hanging out to occur.

See ya there!

I vended last year and I'm getting a vender table this year so I'll see all you guys there.

Oh BTW Cedar Point will be open Oct 22 (HalloWeekends) til midnight so Bargora we could still go! Lorain is probably a half hour away from CP so we could get some coasters in, and there's a discount on admission after 5 or 6 I think. (sorry I couldn't resist :D )

I'll think about going.

Aw..... hell. Anyone who was planning on going to CCAG in a few weeks might want to make other plans. This just arrived in my Inbox:

Greetings CCAG 2005 Committee Members, Vendors, and Attendees:

As some of you are aware, we are allowed the use of the National Guard Armory in
Lorain, Ohio because one of our committee members is a member of the National
Guard. This allows us to hold this event very inexpensively and free to vendors
and attendees. In order for us to hold CCAG at the National Guard Armory in
Lorain, he must attend the event.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Rita has activated the National Guard unit that he is in
for the next 30 - 45 days. This means he is unavailable for the now previously
scheduled event date of October 22, 2005. We intend to reschedule to December
2005, but we do not have a date yet. As soon as we have a date, we will announce
it via our email lists and on the website, www.ccagshow.com.

When we have a date, we will reconfirm with all of the dealers - 10 so far - to
see how many can attend.

Again, we apologize for late change in plans but it simply can't be helped. It's
just one of the non-monetary costs for a free show.

Thank you for your continued support of our show. We hope to see you this
December and again - hopefully in April - of next year!
