View Full Version : PSP Background Keeps Changing Colors!

Alright, I checked my owners manual, and I couldn't figure out what's going on. Every couple weeks, the background color of my PSP's main menu screen changes colors. I don't remember the order of the changes, but it has been green, red, and is currently blue. Does anyone know why it is changing? Has anyone else noticed this with their PSP?

it's changes on a monthly basis I know last month mine was pink

You can set the date to the color you like. It changes on the first of every month. That's all you can do. I think there was a FAQ on Gamefaqs on each month.

yea....i thought the same thing when it first happened to me...not much you can do right now besides mess with the date to get the color you want

how is it stupid or annoying if it's automatic and doesn't require you to do anything but act surprised when the next month starts?
the feature is a variation/evolution on the PS2 setup screen background, which changes over time. but unless you really look, you may not notice. if you like the original green and don't want to fiddle with the date, take out the battery and replace it. the color goes back to green- at least for a month, LOL

Because what if you don't want it to change? You're forced to use "tricks" such as messing with the date setting just to keep it from happening. Seems like a major oversight on Sony's part to leave out a way to disable that "feature". :/

Isn't that what this forum is for, "complaining" (read: "opinions") LOL
It just seems to me it's like if your operating system's desktop color and/or wallpaper changed based on the date without having a way to turn that feature off. That would be very annoying. I sometimes keep my desktop wallpaper for months at a time before changing it. I feel I should have the choice of changing it myself manually, or using a program (or in the case of PSP, a feature) to rotate the appearance if I want it.

Sounds annoying to me. Especially that it eventually cycles to pink. If the PSP supports different color backgrounds it seems to me that it should include the feature to set the color yourself.

That support is an OMGBBQ secret. You all arn't 1337 enough to have opened up that mini game that lets you change it whenever. I made mine open up by squaring it up against my DS. It was a long battle, but the PSP did a low blow (used its faster WiFi) to beat the stage before the DS even knew what it it. I now get to pick and choose my colors. It is quite awesome.
