Lookie what I just found. :-)
I'm about to try it out right now. I'll let you know how it works.
God damnit! I was totally excited about this and ready to download it until I read the system requirements...OS X 10.4.1. I've got 10.3.9. x_x
Some guys at PS Hack have just made an all in one emulator zip. Just unzip this file and place it in the game folder. Here is a pic of all the emus/Homebrew in it.

Do any of the emulators give you an option to run them in widescreen mode on the PSP?
What I mean is, I have several widescreen TV's and I play old school games on them, and these TV's have a "FULL" mode to convert 4:3 images to take up the whole widescreen.
It's the best way to go, because you get used to the slightly stretched image really quickly, and it's nice to have the game cover the whole entire screen.
looking at the pics of Keith Courage, it's obvious that it's in a 4:3 window in the middle of the PSP screen. I'm just wondering if there are any "stretch" or "zoom" options to make the image full screen, regardless of any distortion of the image.

It's 5am. I have not slept. B/c I read up and configured the NES emulator on my PSP for the first time.
This is cooler than running NES games on my GBA, especially b/c the PSP screen is incredible (in spite of my one dead pixel)
Nester has FULL SCREEN capability.
It's going to take a little while to figure out, but my goal is this - To be alble to play the SD Snatcher (english translated) rom(s) on the PSP. Wow, that would be Excellent!

Me too. And I've barely touched it until I got these emulators running on it. :P
Cmtz: is there any way those wallpapers you posted can be inserted into the emulators? They look allot nicer than what I've got on mine now and I'd like to replace them if possible.
Most emus have the option to use full screen, but I don't like the distortion.
I know it's possible to change the pictures, but I haven't looked into it.

To norkusa, you have to use pbp unpacker. In the beginning its hard to understand, but eventually with enough use, you'll become an extracting pro.
PIC1.PNG is the background for the emulator, that takes up the full screen length.
ICON0.PNG is the small icon that is to the left of the giant pic1.png
PARAM.SFO is the file that you use for the 'boot' up version of the emulator your using (I'm not to sure on this one, correct me if I'm wrong).
ICON1.PMF is the same icon as icon0, but is animated instead (they have animated intros already in a package over at dual-scene, you just have to replace their eboot file with the one you have in your emulator% file)
SND0.AT3 is the background music that plays
the .pmf and .at3 files are the ones that people have trouble making, so you don't have to worry about those, just download them from those that have them already premade. For the icon0 and pic1 png's, you just have to resize the pic that you want with whatever photo editor program that you prefer. For this, refer to one of my pervious' post in this topic (it refers to the psp wallpaper, but can also be used for emulator backgrounds).

I really need to try the PC-Engine emulator with Super CD-ROM² support on my friend's PSP. I don't think it'll be enough to get me to buy the over-priced "Value Pack" but maybe once a PSP-only package is released.

How do you have the files/folders set up and what exactly happens when you try to load the emulators up? You probably just have them out of place.

Are you using a PSP with v1.50 firware?
Are you splitting the emu files before placing them into the PSP?
Are you putting the 2 split .PBP files into separate folders before placing them into the PSP?
If you are placing the 2 .PBP files into separated folders, what are you naming them? One of them should have a "%" at the end of it (the smaller sized file of the two should have it).
Where are you placing the ROM folder?

I use this version of pbp unpacker (http://www.pspupdates.com/2005/06/pbp-unpacker-v092-released.html)
Start by using the program and using a guide, then once you go through it a couple times, the guide will not be needed anymore :)
For those looking at creating your own music while on the emulator selection screen (on the psp's game folder), here's a guide on how to create it (Note: make sure the file is small (500 kb or less) or else you will hear silence, this was the mistake I did, but after correcting it, all went well):

I keep it at around 3-4 (and run at 333mhz) and usually don't have any problems.
Citizen White, you know that you can't hide the corrupt files for every emulator? I know you can't do it for the GBA one and there are a couple others. Maybe that's your problem.

AT 333Mhz...
Super Mario All-stars (This game is lagarific) - 10
Harvest Moon - 4
Any RPG - 2
LTTP - 3 (if it's not raining), 5 (if it is)
Yoshi's Island - 10 with the sound off, with the sound on, don't even bother
As you can see, there is no set frameskip.
Also, you can disable sound emulation (fling the analog stick to the right) to improve performance vastly.

I just got Midnight Club 3 for PSP, and the UMD comes with both the game itself and a program called "PSP Update ver 1.50," which I assume updates the firmware *beyond* 1.50. The game itself seems to work without using the PSP Update first.

All the reports I have read are that the update disc updates the PSP TO 1.50. While that may be useful in Japan, I don't really see the point in it here since US ships w/ 1.5 - so maybe those reports are wrong. However, it would be very strange to not label the version on the disc.

Actually, from what I've read, it seems that the folders have to be somewhere around 3-5 characters longer, otherwise the number of spaces changes. Mine are all either 3 or 4, so it wasn't a problem for me. Probably should have included that, sorry.

There's a new emu out today: a port of Ultimate Amiga Emulator. ROCK ON. It doesn't run at full speed yet, but like the SNES emus, it's only a matter of time before the hacker-folk optimize the code and/or figure out how to use the GPU.

Also, what about if you play new PSP games on it? Do you think any new PSP games will automatically update the PSP to 1.51 or whatever?
Apparently, all PSPs currently being sold in North America are 1.5, but if you use the Network Update feature or try to play certain PSP games online, you'll be upgraded to 1.51 or 1.52. Those revs will probably be cracked at some point, but I haven't yet seen a reliable workaround, so I'm leaving my WiFi switch in the "off" position. :)

Does anyone know if this still holds true? Are all North American PSPs v1.5 firmware? If not, is there any way to tell what firmware you have by checking the serial number on the box before buying one?

Here's a method of serial-number interpretation from another forum. Enjoy the playful grammar.
There will be a sticker with a serial number etc..
it will look like this
XX2 PSP-1001 K
120V
A
or
XX2 PSP-1001 K
120V
_
ok so wat im showing here is just an example. Yur numbers above will probably be diff. The main thing to make sure is that if there is an A or nothing under the 120V then it is 1.50. If there is a B or anything other than A or nothing then it will be 1.51+.
Hope yu understand.
Sony isn't shipping 1.50s anymore, so you want to find one of those alleged retail locations where stacks of PSPs have been collecting dust since launch. Or you can hope that a long-rumored "downgrader" program, which will turn 1.51s/1.52s into 1.50s, comes to pass. (And I believe it will.)

There is no way a PSP will ever be able to emulate those systems. It's not powerful enough. It can't even emulate SNES perfectly yet.

What downgrade instructions are you following? Can you post a link? I just did this to a friends PSP last weekend and don't remember reading anything about seeing an icon or photo on the memory stick after you upgrade. These are the instructions I followed:
NOTE: So that everyone gets a chance to see this piece of news, we will be keeping this article at the top and putting new news below it for a while.
Welcome to 1.50, PSP firmware 2.0 users! MPH has created a WORKING downgrader from PSP firmware 2.0 to firmware 1.50. This takes advantage of the toc2rta exploit and allows for the full downgrade of firmware 2.0 to firmware 1.50. I have tried this myself and have successfully downgraded from firmware 2.0 to firmware 1.50. Homebrew and UMD games WILL both work after the downgrade.
UPDATE by Jeff: You will be able to upgrade back to 2.00 after downgrading. I've tried this by myself. So feel free downgrading!
Although this has been tried and found working, this does not mean there is no risk involved so use at your own risk.
Steps to use the MPH downgrader:
- Create an UPDATE folder in the /PSP/GAME/ folder of your memory stick
- Copy EBOOT.PBP (update 1.50) in /PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder
- Unpack MPHDowngrader.zip
- Copy overflow.tif in your /PSP/PHOTO/ folder of your memory stick
- Copy h.bin to root of your memory stick (meaning in ms0:/)
- Copy index.dat in root of your memory stick (meaning in ms0:/ as well)
- Plug the AC adaptor
You memory stick filesystem should look like this (where X is your memory sticks directory):
X:/h.bin
X:/index.dat
X:/PSP/PHOTO/overflow.tif (with no other pictures in there)
X:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/EBOOT.PBP (the 1.50 Firmware update eboot)
What you do next is go into the Photo Menu on the PSP and it will show some jumbled text, which is normal. Wait about 30 seconds and then restart your PSP.
From there you will now have a new file in your PSP’s root directory called ms0:/index.dat.bak. In the next step you will go to your Game Menu, Then Memory Stick, and then Launch “PSP Update ver 1.50.”
It will then ask you if you really want to downgrade and then lead you along to the actual installing. Here is where I got scared. It installed to 99% then errored. This is OK. Restart your PSP and turn it back on. It will come up with another error which is OK as well. Restart it again and you will have PSP firmware version 1.50, and it will lead you through setting up language and time etc. Enjoy, and welcome to the world of legal homebrew, not piracy.
You can get the MPH Downgrader in our PSP Download section [here].
You can get the original Toc2rta exploit [here].
You can watch the video of the downgrader working [here].
You can get the 1.50 Update Eboot in our PSP Download section [here].

What firmware is on your PSP now? Are you absolutely sure it's 2.0? Those instructions are good. Sounds like you are just placing the files in the wrong places:
In step 5, you just have to place the file index.dat and h.bin files in the main PSP directory (the place where all the PSP folders are located). They don't go into any folders.
Put the overflow.tif in the PHOTO folder.
Make a folder called UPDATE and place the EBOOT.PBP in this. Now put this folder in the GAME folder located in the PSP directory.
All the files should be in the right places now. Just follow the rest of the instructions now and you should be good.

Yes, i used google. (I even took it a step higher and used www.dogpile.com)
I'd like to avoid downgrading my PSP. If anyone knows where any emulators that run on 2.0 are (And will post links to them) I would appreciate it very much.

Me too.
Now that I've unpacked my Wonderswan copy of Crazy Climber, I'll have to use that to wait for someone to answer the above request, if there is a 2.0 answer.
