i got into god of war when it first game out, and beat it in 3 days. a month later, i got into burnout 3, but beat that in less than a week. since then, i have not seriously gotten into a game, and with the new home theater coming in, i need a game to get addicted to and finish. help me decide, i can't go this long without seriously playing games, and its even harder finding ways to waste time during summer.

well, Chrono Cross is easily the best game on that list, but if you haven't played though Chrono Trigger yet, I suggest that you do that first. The games are linked in plot (though rather subtly), so It's best that trigger is still fresh in your mind while you're playing cross.

I have a brilliant idea: stop wasting time asking US what to play (since your time is limited) and just jump into one.

Can't people multitask games? At any time I've probably got a dozen games to finish up and can just jump back into them, I'm sure it can't be too hard to do that with a few.

i thought about putting that on the list, but i want a game that would be cool to play on a 140in screen with surround sound, and i didn't really think that fit the bill

Screw Chrono Cross. Vagrant Story all the way.

my time is unlimited from now until october, but i just sit here all day, and can't decide what to play. and playing multiple games at once is something i do often, but it results in me not finishing many games.

I've spoken to God (see picture below), and he spaketh unto me...

Thanks for saying that before me. I didn't want to break Crush Crawfish's heart after I told Umich that Chrono Cross was cannon fodder. ;)

Well, if you're looking for a game that would be visually impressive on your 140in screen, then FF9 is easily the one you should play first. But hell, until October you'll have time to play and finish all of them anyway ;)

I don't know about you, but sometimes I'm not in the mood to keep playing a particular game, so I'll choose something else...in any case, I'd think the only person who has an opinion that matters here is you. Uh, 'buckle down' and try one out...that's the best (only) way to find out what you would want to play first (would or should...does it matter?)

I still don't see the reason for topics like this. You could've at least sat through most of the story for one of those games in the time you're wasting on this topic...to ask us what you should choose? I don't...understand.

Final Fantasy IX! Chrono Cross was boring near the middle of the adventure.

I voted for Chrono Cross. AMAZING game and horribly addicting (for me anyhow). I loved the element system and the story was pretty damn good. A lot of people don't like it compared to Chrono Trigger, but I actually like Cross better. Played through it three times when I got it to obtain all the characters.

Go for Final Fantasy IX.

If you can't decide, go for the paper-in-a-hat (or box) approach: write down all the names of those games on pieces of paper and then draw one at random, then commit to play only that game till you reach the final game credits.

It'll either make you pick a game at random, or really make you realize what you really feel like playing (for instance, you may very well draw FFIX and realize that you're not really in the mood to play it). Or you can do as Ed Oscuro said and multitask -- but be disciplined about it. Set up a time limit, say one or two hours before having to change games.

Count yourself lucky to have all that free time to play... Enjoy it to the max.

I picked Chrono Cross as in my opinion its the best of the bunch that I've played. I may have picked it, but I think Lady Jaye's idea is the best so far. Its totaly random and allows you to play what ever one without any conflict of interest between various opinions.

FF IX. The best FF game ever made :) Great characters, play it next before it gets lost in the shuffle/backlog.

Thats not fair! If that was an option, I would have picked that first. Its the best of the bunch in my opinion. Its not an overly long game but its definitly a quality game.
